Basketball Penn State vs Rutgers: How to watch, betting lines, injuries, starters, and more

PSU is my #1 squad, followed by Wake whom I have rooted for since the 80s when my sister was there w Mugsy Bogues ( whom she voted to kick out of school for an honor code violation...she was on some sort of Student Council. Of course he didn't get run off)

Villanova and Rutgers are #3/#4 as I have family and friends who went to Nova, they are local, plus it was the only other school I applied and was accepted to.

My bride is an RU grad who generally doesn't care much for sports. One year she and a girlfriend surprised me and the other girls future husband with a Sadie Hawkins date surprise trip to the Rutgers Athletic Center for a game. Great environment. I saw us play there in 1989 NIT semi finals and pull off a nice win with Money Brown and that crew over the Knights.

We will be winding down the weekend by a fire w our dogs and the game. Home court and Geno Baker have been the differences in the last 4 years or so.

Go State!

Henn gets Omoruyi over his back then draws an offensive foul.

PSU playing it's best defense of the season early. Not letting Omoruri bully his way inside and quick to close out on the 3 pt shooters.

Just keep up the defensive effort. Best of the year so far but it's easy to get lazy.
No doubt and they need to keep them off the offensive boards…Rutgers has 3 offensive rebounds already, but missed the follow up shots luckily.

Could have used that wide open 3 from Lundy.

Henn had a wide open 3 but made a bad pass instead.

McConnell makes a wide open 3 on the first bad defensive breakdown by PSU.

Bad sequence. Gotta close out strong.

Who is the Rutgers cheerleader commentator who keeps saying "there we go" on Rutgers buckets?

31-21 PSU at the half…going to be tough to win with Lundy and Funk both at 0 points.

Good job locking them down on D...bad decision on that final possession though to not give our fouls, as we could have made it much tougher on them.

Missed a lot of good looks...keep getting those and defending like we are and we've got a good shot tonight.

Rutgers finishes with 7-0 run.

PSU defense got a little lazy which often happens when players get tired.

3 pt play with foul on Dread was tough but probably the right call. It looked to me that Omoruyi hit Pickett's arm on that block.

Funk 0
Lundy 0

PSU 1-5 from FT line including front end of 1-1 so I'll call that 1-6.

Rutgers leads offensive rebounds 4-0.

Tough to win if Funk and Lundy don't score and we miss FTs. I would have been elated with a 10 pt lead at half but it feels like we missed an opportunity to put this game away. Need more than a 10 pt lead when you shoot 48% and opponent shoots 27%.

Definitely a little let down to close the half but they are playing well overall. Hopefully we come out for the 2nd half recharged.

Lundy needed that dunk. His airball 3 was forced which is common when a scorer goes 20+ minutes w/o a point.

Spencer with unguarded 3.
Njie turnover
Omoruyi misses FT but Rutgers gets rebound, misses, gets another offensive rebounds, then hits a 3.

Defense/rebounding isn't what it was in the 1st 15 minutes.

9-0 run cuts it to 10.

Rutgers is passing out of the double teams and getting wide open 3s.

Just like that, Rutgers comes right back. If Lundy and Funk just have decent shooting, we’d be crushing them

7-0 offensive rebounds and 1-6 FT shooting haven't helped. Momentum Rutgers right now.

I guess Mahaffey doesn't get minutes anymore...can't be worse than Dread

We gotta keep the spread around 10. Pickett time.
Rutgers is double teaming Pickett. They'd be winning if Henn didn’t hit a couple of 3s and Lundy getting fouled shooting a 3.

I'd rather have Dread at the defensive end right now...and he hasn't really done anything to hurt us today, but Rutgers really isn't helping off of him.

Missing a lot of really clean looks right now...can't let it impact our defensive intensity!!!
