What’s hurting us the most is our record on the road, so a win against a ranked team on the road would help more. We will also have to see what happens with other teams on the bubble. I too have serious doubts that we make the tournament, I’m just saying losing tonight was not the final nail in the coffin. If we lose Wednesday, that will definitely be the final nail barring an unexpected run in the conference tournament.
You really think we are winning the next two? C'mon man. What I can see us doing is losing to NW then in the dollar short day late category beat MD.
If we had a choice of how to go 1-1 over Rutgers/@Northwestern, it would certainly be better for our NCAA chances for the win to be in the Northwestern game, since that's the Q1 opportunity. While any wins are important these days, road wins (especially road Q1 wins) carry the most weight.

The only shot I had an issue with was the last one, as it was too quick. The rest were all good looks in the flow of the offense. He's out best 3 point shooter (at least in terms of numbers, though one could argue for Funk), so I'm not telling him to stop shooting the ball when Pickett is passing it to him out of double teams and he's open.
Actually it would be more Penn State basketball-like if we win Wednesday and then lose to MD….that seems more in line with the kick in the nuts we experience as a PSU basketball fan.
Definitely…as a coach, you have to let your best players play through struggles…there have been many times where Pickett (for example) missed five or six shots in a row only to turn around and make five or six in a row. No coach would foresee Lundy shooting 1-16 in a game.
Jalen gets a pass. This isn’t a .500 team without him. This is on Lundy. He needs to step up and be a #1 once in a while and he just took a big gorilla dump on our tournament chances.

He stepped up vs O$U in the first half or we lose that game. Nevertheless, he was horrible this game. You would have thought law of averages would kick in and he would make a couple.
Part of the equation would be if the Wednesday game is against OSU or Minnesota…beating Minnesota does nothing, while beating Ohio St still carries some weight. But generally, agree that we’d need to make it until Saturday most likely to feel pretty good.
For the season I agree...but the travel was a bad turnover at the worst possible time and a goose egg in the 2nd half is the opposite of his recent performances.
We may lose to O$U on Wed and that would be it. I agree they hold more clout than Minny but our probability of winning also drops. It is kind of irrelevant because even if we win Wed we have to probably then go through an Iowa or a Sparty or a Illinois or a Mich on Thurs then say a MD or Indiana on Fri. Just don't see any path where we are able to sucessfully negotiate that when you know the odds are high that in one of those games we will shoot miserably.
Pretty much everything had to go wrong for us to lose once we were up 19 and.....of course, it does. Life as a PSU hoops fan. We can look forward to next Nov as we start 0-0.
