Some things never change. It’s always the player that’s not playing that’s the best. He was never better then Clifford at penn state or at Kentucky. He was beat out. He wasn’t going to be a backup so he left. Penn State issue is 100% oline. If they were average the team would be at worse 1 loss with Clifford.
That “100% oline” needs a Levis type runner to get a first down. The 1970 era Steelers OL couldn’t block for these dancing, standing around, waiting to be tackled RBs we have in short yardage situations.
If Joe was here and was strapped with a bunch of slow, soft backs like we seem to be stuck with, he would bench them all and go the Enis route. Levis was the only guy we had that seemed to know how to run the freakin football.
