Pet peeves.

People who can't lock their cars without blowing the horn. Especially if you are walking right in front of the car when the horn blows.
I see this as a design flaw. My current car blasts the horn every time I lock the doors. My prior car (German of course) did the same, but it had a 2 stage horn and the one for locking the doors was a more pleasant, softer tone. I hate that when I lock my car late at night somewhere the horn blasts but I have little choice because of the way it was designed.

Drivers who get pi$$ed because you're in the left lane only driving 10 mph over the speed limit and not passing cars in the right hand lane fast enough.

Drivers who pass me on the right then swerve in back in front of me on the left (because I left 3 car lengths between myself and the car ahead while travelling 70 mph).
My pet peeve is people in the left lane that don't move to the right after passing a car when there is faster moving traffic coming behind them. The speed limit is irrelevant. Passing on the right is much more dangerous and if people would use the left lane properly the roads would be safer for everyone.

2-3 minutes isn’t bad but I’m one of those people if I’m not at least 5 minutes early I’m late. I just don’t feel that whatever function is happening it should start on time.
Funny story. A woman that worked for me had a daughter who was a White House correspondent. She loved Clinton but hated Bush. I asked why and she said Bush was an arse. Apparently Clinton's handlers had a lot of difficulty keeping him on schedule because he liked to hang around and shoot the breeze. When Bush came in the doors for an 8:00 meeting closed at 7:55. The meetings ended on time and he promptly moved to the next thing on the agenda. Very disciplined. The correspondent viewed his discipline as arrogance.

What is your pet peeve?

Mine is people bring late for appointments/meetings. What’s even worse is those who hold up the meeting waiting for the late comers to show up. It’s as if those of us who show up on time our time is not as valuable as the others.

My pet peeve is meetings and those people that schedule them. The same people that don't know much and don't do much. Meetings are a complete waste of time. Send me and email.

I was told the same exact thing by a Secret Service guy I had occasion to deal with through work. They said Bush was extremely punctual and kept a very tight timeline but he said Clinton routinely ran late on everything because of the reasons you said.

Don't most cars default to this, but have an easy way to change the settings?

My wife. Here are a few of the things just from today:
1. Leave lights on in a room she has no intention of going back in.
2. Leaving fridge door after taking something out to use and put back.
3. Not rinsing off dirty dishes.
4. Not putting dirty dishes in dishwasher.
5. Complains every day about a new ailment. (Today was her belief that she has MS.)

Ha ha ha - mine always thinks she is dying of cancer. I always tell her, “you are dying at the same rate as everyone else, one day at a time “

I can attest to that I worked at Camp David (6 years) under both presidents. Clinton was notoriously late for everything and the Bush’s were always on time.

Yes. OP should check his user manual. Most remotes can have some settings changed by the owner and some settings require taking it to a dealer to change them with a computer. The beep or no beep on lock is one that you can almost always change yourself.

Shoppers who leave their shopping carts in the middle of the freaking isle while they grouse at the shelf. Shows a total lack of self-awareness.

Shoppers behind you at the checkout line who push you off the credit card machine when you haven't settled up. I bet we have some here.

People who pull out of a parking lot entrance/exit in the middle of the road! Again, it shows a lack of self awareness. Hell, I had one yesterday who had her head down, ostensibly working her text messages. Honked but to no avail. She didn't care.

People who leave their receipt in an ATM machine. Makes me ponder the status of the personal finances.

I'm far from perfect but my pet peeves have grown over the years, and I credit the lack of civility and social mores for it.

You know another one drives me insane!

When there are 2 Glass doors hell 2 doors that both open--the crowds all follow the open door and create a jam--I am always opening the closed door and saying "Your Welcome--keep being sheep" I don't give a $#!!

Elevators! Trying to exit but people trying to get on won't let you.

Anyone who doesn't make a LEGAL turn on RED! I literally want to get out of my car a slit their throats! But I'm lazy... so I don't. (Who would have thought being lazy would be a good thing BLAHAHAHAAH!!!!)

idiots who can't figure out how a four way stop works

^^ This.

Bring on the rotary. Our society simply cannot handle 4-way stops anymore. They should be outlawed.

Another favorite peeve of mine is being whip-passed before a red light or before the other driver makes a hard, turn-on-two-wheels right turn. No common courtesy whatsoever. But never to fear, autonomous driving cars will soon take away our freedom of the road, so the days of moronic driving are coming to an end. We are being dumbed down to the lowest common denominator.

You really can't blame Clinton for being late for meetings. How could he predict when Monica would be in the mood or when Epstein would provide him a spare 14-year old girl?

Individuals that take what should be a short story or instruction and draw it out. Just make your point.

The intersection where I used to live was next to a school. So the sign said "no turn on red 7:30-8:30 and 2:30-3:30 on school days"

Many a time I got stuck behind someone who saw the "no turn on red" but didn't bother to look at the time or day of week.

Mine is the "Right Turn Signal" sign!!!

"This sign is used to tell motorists that the signal on the far right of the traffic arm is to control those vehicles turning right. When the signal is a green arrow, vehicles may turn right. ... Once stopped, vehicles may turn right on red, if it is safe to turn. A Right Turn Signal sign does not mean No Turn On Red!"

One of the many I have is idiots who feel it is necessary to back into every parking spot and of course it takes 5 times too line it up and they still are almost always over the line taking up 2 spaces - if your aren't in there robbing the place and need a fast get away head in park jerk.

You must know a friend of mine who was Clinton's personal protector during his initial campaign and remained so for about 2.5 years of his presidency. His initials are PD ( a fine Irishman if I do say so myself). He was also on the GHWB detail prior to Clinton.

How about grocery shoppers that walk on the side towards the front of their cart and pull it taking up 2/3 of the isle space.

People in groceries that hit the “Ten items or less” Express Line with way more than 10 items.

People in grocery stores that pay with a check that don’t even begin writing out the check until everything is bagged and in their (her) cart.

People in groceries that let their little kids STAND in their grocery carts. STUPID STUPID STUPID !

It really comes down to having good manners. We are all guilty of something. But there is no excuse for not saying "Thank you".
