team looks solid - fastest DEF ever. talent everywhere but some with little experience - even if they have been in the program a while.

walking boots = Tommy, Shorter, Shane Simmons, J Johnson

OL = Menet (C), Gonzo and McGovern (Gs) and Bates (LT) and either Big Bacon or Fries (RT)

Ricky Slade bigger (201#) and 4.4

punt return = could see Hamler getting some time behind Thompkins (13.5 ycr last year)

DE = now thinned due to loss of Buch, Brown and Simmons in walking boot. Miller and YGM can play every down in terms of Run or pass. not many others.

DT = rotation looks to have super potential - but little experience

LB = Luketa may be the MLB when it comes down to it. Bowen to get time gradually. Parsons potential to be let go on the outside.

S/CB = equal or better than last year Amani O, Reid, TCF, D Johnson at CB very solid.

not much talk re punting and KOs = of course very solid in punting.

WTF is everyone in a Walking Boot?

It’s a preventative measure once espoused by Nancy Sinatra in the late 60’s.
That girl was WAY ahead of her time...

Classic “Big Bacon and Fries at RT” got to love it!

Heal up walking boot corps. Will need you by 9/29!

I don't know if it means anything, but the little drill video of Parsons released yesterday shows him lined up at DE (and beating Bryce Effner). He can't play Mike linebacker and be lined up on the left tackle. Probably nothing, it was probably just a drill. But Parsons sure looks like he could do some damage at DE.

It's amazing what's happened to football training among elite prospects that true freshmen come in physically ready to play some of the most demanding positions. Gross-Matos was physically ready for DE last year, which is super unusual. Sounds like Mustipher is physically ready to play DT now, which would have been unheard of 10 years ago. And then Parsons and Luketa, two LBers in the same class who are ready to go at it in the B1G.

Are we sure Shorter is in a walking boot? I saw him on and off campus several times and he had a limp but no boot. I thought I saw him recently and he wasn’t even limping, but I can’t be sure.

he wasn't lined up at defensive end, that was a drill where you have three guys on defense vs. three guys on offense (2 blockers and guy running the ball).

anyone......anyone.....Bueller.....Bueller..........kind of key question....

If it’s Jan it will be very interesting to see who starts at MLB. It’s too early to start Bowen. Could be Luketa?

I’m gonna guess Jan because if it was Juwan I’m sure we would have heard about it from 247 or Twitter mumbling but that’s just me
