Between the Franko debacle the other night and not being able to figure out a way to get hold of the bullpen, is Sandberg actively trying to get fired? Not that any interview I have ever seen him in has he impressed me at all and most interviews he comes off appearing to have a below than average intelligence, but the last two days have taken it to a new level of incompetence. Letting a position player throw almost 50 pitches? Utley finally blew a gasket in public. At least the Sixers are tanking on purpose to try and get a #1 draft pick which in the NBA is huge value, but the Phils are not even trying to actively tank, they are just the worst run sports team in the MLB if not in all 4 major sports right now.

Was excited when they first brought Sandberg on board, but watching these past two years has made me realize there was a reason the Cubs never hired him as manager. His personality grates on players and tactically he has not impressed, not that he's had very much talent to work with. They are at least 3 years away from being competitive, and the challenge will be that they have a better job the last two drafts, but they lack any true high end prospects.

Crawford and Nola are both high end prospects. Franco has 7 homers since late May
