ADDED 8:30 p.m.:
I hit the road right before both teams put in the JV squads, but when I left it was still 16-2 in favor of St. Joe's.
All in all, not a lot of action from Swift tonight. One real nice run where he made three guys miss in very short area, but they didn't seem to be pushing him much tonight. Walls got most of the first-team carries. Swift could be seen toward the end of halftime riding the stationary bike, so not sure if he's nicked or not.
Simmons was real impressive tonight. Great size for sophomore and made a real nice, juggling catch along the sideline (pictured below). I watched a lot of Lynch, too. He definitely has the size already as only a junior and could move people when he got his hands on them, but struggled a little bit against smaller defensive ends in the pass rush.
A few photos I snapped of St. Joe's top guys:
D'Andre Swift
Benny Walls goes for a TD on a long fourth-down carry
Carter Lynch
Darryle Simmons hauls one in along the sideline, runs for a TD
I'm down here at Memorial Field for State College vs. St. Joe's Prep. SJP took an early 7-0 lead with a tough 10-yard run from Benny Walls.
Swift had a couple nice runs on the first drive, but fumbled on his first carry of the second. He's also returning kicks but they're stopping them at the catch.
Carter Lynch is huge at right tackle, and young WR Darryle Simmons had an outstanding catch on the first drive, just barely (maybe) getting his feet in bounds for ~30 yards.
