will klock go or will he elect to start with his knee fix?? on the other hand he wrestled without the brace this past weekend, so maybe he can.

The parity is amazing. The last year of the single-class championships, Lower Dauphin had three straight guys in the finals - at 138, 145 and 155. All three lost and Lower Dauphin is still looking for its first state champ 45 years later. But imagine that feat with 12 weight classes and 24 finalists.

I was there! Greg Duke and Scott Malles from Hempfield (Lancaster area, not Hempfield Area) were in the semis after meeting each other 5 times previously in the season - a dual, a Christmas tourney, sectional finals, district finals and regional finals. Duke had a late pin while being way behind and Malles got injured but tried to finish the bout. He got tied late by Frantz and lost big in OT (like Duke). Nellis won by referees' decision, something that can't happen anymore. Carr/Kepp was the most amazing high school match I've seen given the disparity in ability - Carr being a 1972 Olympian and Kepp a very good wrestler with nowhere near Carr's credentials. If the refs had the courage to call the deserved stalling against Carr, Kepp would have gone to OT or won in regulation by disqualification.

Sculley stalled his way to a win. Carr was a pretty big upset and he looked like a geeky kid from your math class. Hall/Mutek was close. Fisher did the duck under so often to Stauffer you felt badly for Stauffer. Peiffer was a kid I would have wrestled in a scrimmage but I had to have dental work done that day. It was a pretty great sendoff for single class PA championships.

From the last few years of the single class PA championships, the stories I most like to hear are from those who saw the Schalles -- Chatman match in 1969.
