Pitt’s very sophisticated offense scored a grand total of 7 first half points tonight.

Just texted my CMU grad friends that are big pitt fans that their 10th year transfer starting QB was 10 for 32 for 179 against a weak B12 team, and maybe Duzzy might be better off starting Veilleux and planning for the future.......
I thought that Veilleux would take over at some point this season, but that might be expedited now. His play was subpar and he attacked the fans in the post-game press conference (not ideal).

We went 5-7 in 2017 but discovered our QB of the future in Pickett. I’d be fine if this season turned out similarly; we lost several players to NFL, so we knew we’d have growing pains.

The funniest part of last night's game was Duzzy waving at the "crowd" to make more noise on a Cincy 3rd down.

I would hate to be in Veilleux’s shoes, that poor Canadian has no idea of the hatred many Pitt fans have for anything PSU. And visa versa of course. Any errant pass or interception will be viewed as a vile plot by PSU to undermine Pitt football. The kid really should have gone somewhere else, but then again DUZZ’s sophisticated offensive scheme is a magnet for QB’s with NFL aspirations.🥹

I’d hope not because Petrishen was a key contributor to our 2021 ACC Championship. Shouldn’t matter where they come from; they’re Panthers now!

With that being said, I hope they wait a week before starting him. I think Veilleux wouldn’t be put in a position to succeed starting his first ever game on the road in a rivalry game.

On a serious note. Jurkovec looked bad. He chucked and ducked a lot and honestly I was impressed by Pitts receivers ability to go get those balls. The one lob pass 20 yards downfield should've gotten him pulled from the game.

He is making a good living. He knows the sophisticated NFL terminology. He will ascend to the NFL when he is called. Save your concerns for the starved and diseased on this planet.
The only way Duzzy makes it to the NFL is if the Steelers feels sorry for him and give him a sideline ticket so he can actually learn NFL terminology.

He won't smell the B10 again either......

Destined to be a pitt flameout.

And besides, we can all enjoy the prospect of Duzzy's long bus ride back from Morgantown with his tail between his legs........

Nah, I think we can still beat WVU. For as inconsistent as we looked last night, West Virginia has looked just as poor their first two games. With that being said, CJ Donaldson worries me… he gashed us last year and will likely make some big plays again, especially with the way our run defense performed last night. We’ll be alright.

I'm still amazed that wounded duck wasn't picked off. He's lucky Cincy lost the receiver in coverage. Pitt receivers dropped a number of catchable balls also.

Quite a few boo birds out last night for the hometown hero.

WVU ran the ball pretty effectively at times vs PSU, and Pitt didn't look too good against UC's running game. WVU's QB also is a very good scrambler. I'll be very surprised if WVU doesn't run the ball well vs Pitt and that is a great recipe for success at home with a drunk crowd thinking ahead about an enjoyable evening of couch burning......

I would not be surprised at all if it worked out that way.
