They were using their 4th string QB (walk-on) and they had key opt outs or players who portaled. I'd say they probably played better than expected

You gotta give the Fighting Narduzzis a lot of credit for hanging in the game with the powerful Toledo Rockets. They were facing a dominant team who went 4-4 in the MAC finishing in 6th place. Toledo only lost to Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, Ohio University, Buffalo, and Akron. The pitters tried their best but demonstrated that they are worse than a mid-level MAC team. The Toledo coach gets paid $1.1 million per year compared to $6.7 million for Narduzzi. I think it is about time for the pitters to admit that they are just a local club football team, and it is time for the Pennsylvania taxpayers to stop subsidizing their pretend big-time football team.
The hero of the GameAbove Sports Bowl were the camera people who carefully made sure that none of their shots showed the putrid attendance. The stadium was essentially empty with no crowd noise whatsoever.
The pitters are an embarrassment to all Pennsylvanians.

I liked the closeup of the Duz writing on his little tablet. What do you want to bet it was the stuff he was supposed to pick up at the grocery store?
I wouldn’t bring it up if it weren’t for the official Twitter account putting it to us when they won in the regular season.
In general, Pitt talks a ton and then doesn’t back it up.
Their fans stood throughout much of the game. Both of them.
I like to say Slippery Rock University has the best Western Pa football team at the moment!!!!
My favorite shot was the Duz in the OT's just standing there on the sidelines holding hands with what looked like a GA, with his team in a circle with the OC. Duz not on his headset or putting anything into the decision making for all the OT plays. Not exactly the time for kum ba yah moment....
Pitt is not worth the emotional energy that many still expend on them. They haven't been relevant in decades.
It's a general rule of life...and not just in sports: aim higher...not lower. Don't pride yourself on beating down those already beneath when there are far more meaningful targets above.
Ohio State...Michigan...the Big Suck higher-ups...the refs who do their bidding...the media tools who mouth their lines. Wasting time on Pitt diverts attention from them.
Hollywood needs to make The Duz starring Will Ferrell. It would be hilarious.
What do you do with Narduzzi? I mean, he's a clown but he wins just enough that it's hard to fire him. It's the gift that keeps on giving the whole year.
Must be a city of Pittsburgh head football coach thing. Steelers, Panthers, same difference……
Almost every program rises or falls with their Star Count. sPitt is no different. Before you can win on the field at this level you have to win over the recruits, sPitt has been failing to do that so much so that they are losing kids in their back yard to PS that didn't normally happen before.
