Pittsburgh blog is about to make you blow a gasket (selling "Joe Knew" shirts)

If you are not willing to answer the question, then there really is nothing to discuss. You can go on being delusional if you like. The fact of the matter is that every program has dirt, even if those within the program are doing their best to keep it clean. And even those people make mistakes. Calling other coaches cheaters when the same thing likely happened here is laughable.

The easiest thing to do is to just look at the results and stop being a baby about "cheating".

I'm not willing to answer an off topic question. I've made that abundantly clear. I've also asked you multiple times to go back and address the questions I posed in previous posts. If you are not willing to answer those questions, then there really is nothing to discuss. You can go on being delusional if you like.

The easiest thing to do is just look at the words that are written in a post, and read them for comprehension, then respond to those written words and stop being a baby by trying to go off on tangents.

There is zero evidence that anything like that ever happened at Penn State. Zero.
If nobody said anything how could there be? I doubt he's saying it was ever common place.

There's no way to curb stuff like that until after it's happened. I promise you in 45 + years there were a few $100 dollar handshakes. It's impossible to eliminate it under the current system.

So we should just believe you... right. Not like the media hasn't taken every chance to vilify Paterno, surely they just let a bunch of stuff unreported.

Maybe Joe gave a recruit a piece of gum... let's equate that with boosters paying recruits! It's obvious what you are trying to do, and it's pathetic.

It does matter. I suggest you look up the definition of the word "cheat".

Cheat - act dishonestly or unfairly in order to gain an advantage, especially in a game or examination.
It's impossible, yes impossible, to eliminate it at a big time program under the current system and rules.

BTW, every school commits and reports secondary violations on a regular basis. That's how you keep a program clean.

And if we were discussing secondary violations, your point might be relevant. Please stay on topic.

He is making an accusation about Penn State without having a shred of evidence to prove is accusation. That is pure BS.

The first part of my post isn't about secondary violations. At best all you can do is make sure it doesn't happen with any regularity. From time to time a kid is gonna get greased.

No, it's common sense. If you think it never happened you're living in fantasyland.

There is literally no way to eliminate it. He's not trying to besmirch PSU's name. It's a reality of big time college sports.

They are still selling these effing T-shirts. I called Amazon again this morning. Tried to get Lisa but was directed to "Ron". Ron said he would look into it but it might take 48 hours. I told Ron that we don't have 48 hours and to prioritize it above all other requests. He didn't promise to do that only to do the best he could.

Supposedly there are now coffee cups as well.

This is outrageous.

I have not made any accusations about them.
Alright, but they were indicated as being "cheaters" earlier in this thread which is why the conversation got to this point. I just wanted to know how they "cheated".

I'm not making accusations, I'm saying that in over 45 years, it is damn near impossible to believe that boosters didn't do any of that stuff for PSU. Heck, we know that an agent gave Enis a suit.

So it's about major violations? How many of those has PSU ever had?

You might want to think about back tracking or changing the subject now.
How dense can you be? Literally every major program has something to hide over that long a period of time. It's impossible to eliminate.

If you want to pretend that isn't the case go ahead.

Can we forget about the troll long enough to focus on the topic at hand? These shirts are still available, and I would like to be able to enjoy opening weekend knowing that they will be taken down. It has now been over 48 hours. If people buy them and wear them to the game against Pitt, have we confirmed that they will not be allowed in?

Amazon sucks balz. I would recommend a boycott against them for selling these if they are not removed by end of business Friday. I'm about to write Jeff Bezos an email too.

Someone should contact the Pitt AD and make sure they are aware that their ignorant fans might be wearing these hateful and factually inaccurate shirts to the game.

What evidence is there that it happened with Urbs? When was Saban ever sanctioned for these things?
So on one hand, you're claiming there's absolutely no way Penn State could have run a clean program for 45 years. Then in your next post, you're demanding proof that Meyer or Saban did anything wrong, because you're positive there's no way they could have or would have. Stop talking out both sides of your ass already, although I know it's probably a lifelong habit and you can't help yourself.

No, what I am claiming is that there is no way boosters did not try to influence kids for PSU over 45 years. I would say the same for Urbs and Saban's schools. That doesn't make those coaches cheaters though.

This is not a hard concept. Coaches can't control the people on the outside.

GMJ is certainly the generalizer, no? Just because some schools do it does not mean every school. I know one who went through another type of scandal not even related to booster issues about 8 years ago and the new administration made the Booster Clubs be regulated under a School-Run Foundation with all kinds of rules and regs about what they could and could not do.
And Miami had a model compliance department set up by an AD that was chairman of the enforcement committee.

How'd that work out for them?

That's why Miami got off light believe it or not. The system allows boosters access to the program. If a booster has a personal agenda, and is determined, there's nothing anyone can do until after something has happened. In Miami's case they ignored Randy Shannon because he had no proof.

From Spanier's lawsuit:

104. Penn State officials were also deeply concerned about an NCAA investigation because of the potential that unknown violations, unrelated to Sandusky, could be discovered during such an investigation, further harming the football program or other athletics programs.

There it is in plain English. There's no telling what they'll find. It only takes one player to commit a major violation.

Nobody's insinuating that Penn State ever lacked institutional control or Joe Pa is like John Wooden. I believe in "Success with Honor". I believe Joe would report a major violation if he found out about one.

Reggie Bush's parents got USC a major violation. Think about that for a second. How do you know some kid's parents weren't taking benefits to direct him to an agent?

But I'm sure you'll find a way to deflect reality. All big time programs have dirt.

We can't know what has or hasn't happened for sure. I do know two highly recruited kids during Paterno's career and neither got anything from Penn State other than a promise to have a chance to play and to get an education. That's a small sample, I know, but both were very highly recruited and neither got $100 handshake or anything else.

Oh I'm certain it was a small minority.

Penn State didn't tolerate whatever it discovered. This an indictment of what college athletics has become.

All I know is that these God damned t-shirts and mugs are still being sold on Amazon after a week of complaints. I own Amazon stock through other investments and I will not continue to patronize them until these are taken down for good.

What a successful campaign. Now there are about half a dozen different designs of the Joe knew t-shirt. You guys really know how to squash sales of them. The publicity against the blog really shit down sales of these t shirts. All that whining to Amazon really worked.

It's a god damn shame that they take joy in kids being molested so they can have some jokes. Speaks volumes to what kind of people(and I use that term loosely) they truly are.

Joe knew...and if you say he didn't, that's a lie...he was the head man

More deflection, why am I not surprised? Please get back on track and address my post on "major violations".

There's the "potential" that I win the lottery tonight, but I'm not holding my breath. Who are these "officials"? Are we talking the out of touch BOT that purposefully tried to kill the football program?

It took you that long to respond, and that is all you could come up with?!?! Or are you just trying to lull me to sleep?
