Pittsburgh fans, what did than FAN station have to say Monday?

I have been listening since Monday, crickets!! They have said nothing!!!

No one really listens to the fan. Those of you guys who listen to Mark Madden know what he's referring to when he brings up the "B team." A while back someone mentioned how there's not a lot of good personalities in Pittsburgh and that's spot on. Stan Savran, Joe Starkey and Paul Zeise are on the short list.

There's ABSOLUTELY no defending the Steelers:
THEY LOST TO DA' BEARS! DA' CHICAGO BEARS!

They're mad about Paul Johnson stealing Dooz' "high road" line.

So they are mad about him saying 'high road' but not mad at him calling them a bad team?

I was so sure the pittsburgh media and that nutjob Francesa would be ranting and attacking the Georgia Tech coach for flat out saying pitt was a bad team.

You mean they are ok with that so long as it's not James Franklin saying it? o_O:rolleyes::rolleyes:

It's not what you say. It's not even how you say it.

It's who you say it about.

Penn State football is way down the list of topics covered on that station.

Prime topic has been the Steelers' debacle in ChiTown with the national anthem stuff being the major sidebar. The fact that Al Villanueva is a Steeler also brings much discussion, not to mention Tomlin.

#2 is the Penguins season right around the corner. Of course by Friday/Saturday timeframe the Steele vs Ravens will dominate with a slight nod to our buddy Narduzzi's teams epic encounter with the Rice Hooters on Saturday with 47 "fans" snoozing while awaiting their gratis pop.

Lots of topics on the Fan these days - PSU barely scratches the list

I did hear a few call-ins from pitt fans expressing hope that Lamont Wade will transfer to pitt since they will be more tolerant of diverse opinions.

...and the museums...and the Opera...

They need to open a museum of Pitt mediocrity, cataloging the last 35 years of Pitt football. Then their fans will be really torn about what to do on Saturdays. Chances are there isn't a large enough space to house it.

As someone who lives in Pittsburgh, it's much more of a racist area than State College.... hands down. It's truly amazing how what Pitt fans say is always 180° from the truth.

I grew up in Allegheny County and have this conversation with people all the time. It's mind blowing they actually believe this. I'm always told how diverse Pitt's student population is which is completely false. It's actually even less diverse than PSU.

It shouldn't be difficult to grasp that all PSU students, facility, and alum aren't from and don't reside in Center County. Most come from metro areas, spend their 4 years, then return to other metro areas. The majority of Pitt grads I know (quite a few) grew up in Western PA, went to college in Western PA, and now work/reside in Western PA.

But, but, but....there's one random picture of one confederate flag that flew in the intramural fields that one time.

Sorry. To be clear, I don't think there's anything wrong in the slightest with staying in the same place. I'm just pointing out the rampant hypocrisy.

Sorry, I wasn't trying to put words in your mouth. That's how I feel.

Been saying this for years. Stupefying how the morons in the HBG, Phila, NY, and PGH media crap all over this "hick town" when at least 75% (if not more) of the people at PSU are from the Delaware Valley, Lehigh Valley, South Jersey, NY Metro, DC Metro, Allegheny Co., etc. I bought my house in St. College Boro sixteen years ago. There has been a lot of turnover in the neighborhood in those years and in all that time there is exactly ONE person I know on my block who is from Centre Co. That was an elderly lady who recently moved. Everybody is from somewhere else. It's like Los Angelenos....all come from somewhere. The depth of understanding of the media is a kiddie pool...very shallow and mostly pee.

They are talking about this on the Lair too. This is insane. They act like there Pittsburgh is a bastion of diversity and enlightened thinking (I'm from Pittsburgh; it is not)

Ever wonder why Pitt fans don't like James Franklin, an extremely classy and likable guy that pretty much everyone else likes? It's because he's different than them, and I'm not talking about him being a winner.

I replied to the thread. Not really getting answers.

Though, one reply to me did mention that Pitt's student body includes all genders. Who knew?

So I had the Fan on at lunch talking Ravens-Steelers with Chris Hoke, and Filiponi brought up how "The Jaguars pulled a "James Franklin" up 37-0 and did a fake punt.

Are the two even comparable? They barely say anything about how Georgia Tech called Pitt essentially a bad team, yet they are still harping on that 56-0 timeout. Those guys are whacked.

What are we up to now? 73 or so?? [Not completely joking--heard from folks who work at a local college that they are working on trying to identify all of the possible gender pronouns so that no student feels left out--and there were a large number of possible options.]

I think we all know why.

It's just odd that a group of people who constantly bashes "midget" Wade (actually average height) is now outraged that people are bashing Wade.

Lol. Not sure how many there are, but Pitt must have all 73.

Huh? How did that ever become a topic? Pitt fans are really hurting for some fantasy to grasp on to. Maybe next week they can talk about how Justin Fuente is unhappy at VA Tech and wants the Pitt job.

Maybe mini-Ditka will go back and be the head coach at Pitt when Narduzzi takes over for Saban at 'Bama.

I think it's hilarious that now all of a sudden they want him. One week ago he was too short and a complete a$$hole.

And he only went to Penn State because Franklin is black even though everyone at Penn State hates black people. He really wanted to go to WVU which is apparently far more inclusive.

My brain hurts. Why do I even engage in this stuff?
