Just curious how everybody’s doing around the middle relative to where they were around March 13. Comments in the response are encouraged.

I cut a handful of pounds before sneaking off to Disney the first week in March, so I’m still in the no major change group. Down about 7% from Feb 1.

Was walking a ton when it was cooler. Forced myself to get back running about 12 weeks ago - figured if I was going to sweat I’d go all in. Most running I’ve done since my catastrophic quad tendon tear last year. Pleased that my heart doesn’t seem to have lost much power. Can cover 6 miles at under 8:30 pace on the cooler days (body hates the sun/heat). Hope to get to something like 7:45 splits over 4-5 miles in the fall. Reducing mileage is probably better for me over the long haul.

Without an hour commute each way I’ve cooked a ton, and having complete control over the menu has made it easy to keep the calorie count down.

Still 6’3”.....my weight is down about 5 lbs since the virus hit and is fighting to stay under 240 lbs. Had hit 280 lbs 2-3 years ago so feel reasonably good about my recliner-based, remote control exercise program.

Fonzie is also down several lbs because of our more frequent walking together, he’s just under 60 lbs which is not bad for a basset hound.

I was down to about 160 from 180 with intermittent fasting. Back up to 185-190 trying to bulk up (but still eating too much junk).

I went from 230 to 195. The weight change was due to the following:

1. Stopped Powerlifting
2. Started Marathon Training
3. Went Vegan

I feel great and don't regret it 1 bit, although I take alot of crap from my coworkers at the jail.

I put myself on an intermittent fast. Went from 215 to 197. Goal is 188. These fires here caused me to start stress eating, so I might bounce for a while before I can get back on track.

I put on 14 lbs. Felt like crap My daughter would stop by and bake. Really missed the gym. With a sensible diet and going back to the gym when it opened, I lost it in about 2+ weeks.

I just popped a different pic of Fonzie into my Avatar pic. Probably taken when he was about 3, he’s now 5 1/2.
Thank you! Moms and I love him very much. Last bh I met was in Denver

I lost 55 pounds....but also beat cancer....you have no idea how devastating that disease is till you or a close loved one goes thru it. Please get yourself checked....I truly do not want ANY one to go thru what I did.
I too lost about 40 pounds during chemo (colon cancer), which ended for me in the middle of May. In addition to not feeling much like eating, I found that food just doesn't taste right (or at all) when you're going through it. Since then though, I've started to gain it back - not quite where I was but on my way there!

Good luck to you!

Well, it took 20 pounds from me but i found them again lol. Exact same weight as when it all started. With thanks to my gym being open :)

Lost about 8-10 pounds since I am not going out for lunch during the workday

I gained 15 until May. Down 5 lbs since I’ve Been working daily since May. To damn hot to work out so I should drop another 20 this fall and winter.

Congrats.

What approach are you taking to intermittent fasting? Eating only between the hours of X and Y every day, or not eating on pre-determined 2 days every week, or what? I've seen different approaches mentioned with this and I'm curious what works for you. Thanks.

My guess is the limiting eating to between specific hours each day is the way to go, but I don't know.

Bob, I’ve found limiting eating to twice a day has worked for me: 12AM -12PM & 12PM-12AM!

EDIT: Oh yeah, I tell my refrigerator “be right back”!

Not eating lunches out and exercising more since March 16th = 10% loss and I didn’t think I had much to lose at all....

hurt my foot a month ago and put a couple back on without as much exercise, but I’m still well below pre Covid number.

Congrats.

I fast for 15 hours everyday. From 8pm until 11am. So I have normal dinner and try and eat nothing else before bedtime. We eat kind of late every evening but are always done before 8pm. That cuts out the late night snacks I used to do. Then because I don't eat again until 11am I cut out breakfast. I always use to eat breakfast. The last 2 hours from 9am until 11am are kind of hard. If I keep myself occupied I don't think about it as much. I have never been a coffee drinker but I've found that if I have coffee at 11am (yes with sugar and cream) my hunger is quelled. Then I eat something at noon. Fasting for 15 hours allows your body to burn your fat. Especially the last 3 hours. During the day I try to eat healthy. An apple...a banana...yogurt...cottage cheese...etc. However, for dinner I eat everything and anything., as much as I want. So far it has worked.

I stayed about the same. All the walking finally got a HDL bump up to 40, which is great for me.

I workout in the morning and push it most days. I think it would be very hard at first to not eat breakfast after working out.

I’d dropped about 15 pounds before getting hit by a car on my bike. Probably 5 back.
Was in pretty decent shape at about 215, doing 20-25 mile bike rides every day or a 8-10 mile jog. May 13, was riding a bike trail and was going around a teenager walking in my direction. yelled "on your left" as I was approaching, but he didn't hear me with his earbuds. As I was going around, it startled him and he jumped left, and I swerved right and down I went. My right foot didn't come unclipped from the pedal and that was all she wrote. Spiral fracture of the fibula and broken tibia. Had to ride home the last 5 miles on one leg. ER was empty so was in and out in under an hour. 10 days later surgery (had to do the COVID test and got results back in 2 hours). Metal strap and 9 screws on the fibula. Screw on the tibia, and a lateral across to hold it all together.

Knew that I couldn't continue my standard eating habits, so gave up refined sugar and wheat. Took about a week to get over the hunger pains. Breakfast is yogurt with fruit and honey. Lunch is a big salad. Dinner is standard stuff but no refined sugar or bread. Now at 181 lbs and 8.1% body fat. I cheat with small portions of bread 1-2 times a week. Was released from Orthopedic Surgeon 8 weeks after surgery. Will go back middle of September to get the lateral screw removed because it limits my right foot flexing a small bit

Had physical 2 weeks ago ago and totally off blood pressure and triglyceride medicine. Down to a baby aspirin a day only

Been on a Wahoo bike trainer since June 20 and using Zwift app. Lots of fun. Been putting in 250 miles a week in now and it was great rehab (started riding 4 weeks after surgery). Feel great. Going to take it to 175 and hold there.

Hope all is OK with your bike accident and you are all mended. I love riding outside, but with traffic the way it is in Austin, and even with huge shoulders on the road, you have to have your head on a swivel all time.

Got up to 40 miles per week running with no commute. Down 15
