Polls....

So tomorrow when the "play-off" poll comes out, we may be ranked in the top ten. Does anyone else wonder what all these polls are for? Yesterday we were ranked 12th in the AP poll. There is a coaches poll, and even an EsPiN poll. My point is, with the "play-off" poll taking effect now, why do we even need the other polls? On Saturday during the games, they had both Auburn and Florida ranked number 11 depending on which poll you looked at. Is there one overriding poll at this point, and if there is, why do we need the other polls? Just curious......

We don't, but people force them upon us and people tend to give them attention therefore they're going to keep coming.

Fair point... everyone has an opinion, hence multiple polls. As for the CFP poll, I think that the last one released is the one that ranks teams for the playoff versus a final, post-bowl poll. Based on that, the AP, Coaches, etc., would at least reflect #2 and down post-bowl season.
