anyone notice the wetfish congrats to CJF from the Rutgers guy? Didn't even look CJF in the eye!....guess he realizes he is effed for a long time coming against PSU...

DUDE>>>it's only gonna get worse!

I wonder what his post game handshakes were like after losing to UM, OSU and MSU. They were all shutouts as well and the margins of victory were even greater.

Did you see the look on Ash's face during the game? The poor guy looked shell shocked. It was as if he was in a dream and could see the entire season play out in the futility of this one game. He was in his own world and it wasn't a good one. 87 yards of offense at this point in the season? Also, for almost the entire 4th quarter there were nothing but PSU fans in the stands chanting WE ARE and singing OHOHOHOHOHOHOH or whatever the heck it is. He was thinking the same thing as Narduzzi. How the hell am I getting out of this place? He was probably embarrassed to look Franklin in the eye.

I thought he looked like he was nearly in tears- I actually felt bad for him. He's got very few players, and he has to recruit against Franklin, Meyer, Harbaugh, Dantonio, and whoever the new guy will be at ND. He's like a one legged man in an ass kicking contest.

Ash could have been thinking:
Another shutout/beat down;
Great fan support;
Who was the jerk who threw the baseball;
I don't blame the last guy for decommitting;
None of the above.

The man is defeated. He has had his teeth kicked in all season and this just loss tops it off for him. He said in a pre-game interview that this was a big game for them and it meant a lot for them. Then they went out and crapped the bed, his fans bailed on them, and he then looks up and see PSU fans the last standing in the stadium.

Pretty demoralizing IMO.

Well ........if RU had any recruits at the game, at least they didn't witness the 4th Q........so he has that "silver lining" going for him.

His look of disappointment walking away after the handshake really did with the rain make it look like he was crying. What do you, as a coach do after that? Cancel the postgame talk, head straight to your office and that half gallon bottle of vodka?

Ash seems to be a good guy, and apparently a decent DC (at least Urban thought so), but this is his first HC gig and he was only hired less than a year ago. Since RU was in complete meltdown anyhow, he simply had little to nothing to work with. I can't wish ill on him.

OTOH, the fanbase deserved everything they got.

Also, if he wanted to talk to the recruits it wouldn't take him long to find them. It's not like he has to wade through a bunch of fans to get to those recruits.

Time to go all "Bad Santa" Billy Bob Thornton

If you have ever played or coached the game, you've got to feel sympathy and empathy for the players and the coaches. It is hard for anyone else to fathom what going thru a season like they've had is like. My sophomore year in high school we went 0-10. I recall how even our classmates mocked us. My first season as a high school coach we went 1-9 and the 1 came in the last game. They are not the dirt bags who have no idea how to act. If Ash can survive this it will be a great achievement. I'm sure things are much worse than he thought they were before he arrived.

Rutgers is a dumpster fire. They have no talent on that team and Ash cannot recruit much with PSU back and many other programs going into Jersey for players. Schiano had a perfect storm where for a multitude of reasons, nobody was recruiting Jersey, that is not the case anymore. The facilities ar RU are not good and they have zero money to improve them.

If I were Ash, I think I would quit and go back to a Dcooridantor portion for a few years and look for a better head coach gig to come up. As no way he is going to be able to bring that program back.
