Powerade

138 Jack Davis. I am correct in believing that is the son of Clarion coach Davis, right?

I know everyone has different seeding methods, but some things always mystify me. Cam Enriquez not seeded at 120, either is Zeke Escalara although I'm not sure how he will do here. Carson Manville not seeded at 132. I don't want to call out names, but there are seeded kids at each weight that would get drilled by them. It's not like these kids haven't earned the right to be seeded with their performances at tournaments either.

It is pretty strange that the only two entrants that are ranked in every rating service at 132....and in the top ten....only one gets ranked at Powerade.. Silva deserves #1 but Manville not in the top 8 when the other 7 rated wrestlers are not in Flo's or Intermat's top 20 at 126, 132 or 138? I guess we shall see how it plays out. Looking forward to it.

Really would not shock me if Bartlett knocked off Teasdale.

With the exception of getting a little aggressive looking for near-fall in overtime, I thought Beau was the best wrestler in his bracket at Ironman.

Until proven otherwise, Gavin has to be considered the favorite. But, the upset potential is certainly present.

As a New Yorker, looking for my man, Frankie G. to make history by becoming the first wrestler from an Empire State school to win this prestigious event.

I don't think so. After Jack (Sr.) left CUP, he moved back (home) to Lake Lehman, PA and his youngest? son, Scott, moved back with him his Junior year of HS. PIAA deemed the transfer for athletic purposes and ruled him ineligible. He wrestled for LL his Sr year and won a PA State Title. I think? he played baseball in college.
Memory not what it used to be.

Powerade weighs heavily past Powerade finishes, also for the most part they do not seed freshman.

Given that info, I'll recant my rant. I did a quick relook at the seeds - they do not have a single freshman seeded, not even at 106. If you have a policy and are consistent with it, no problem. All tournaments should give weight to their previous medalists, and given that, 120 really is not an issue either although I'll wager that Enriquez ends up on the stand. That's a good weight with the little Henson, Escalera and Wyatt Lutz also lurking.

Drawing in superstar freshmen is poor form. Great way to blow a bracket wide open with early upsets.

Anybody know why McHenry isn’t wrestling? He was pre-seeded #1 at 113, but not in the 113 bracket.

braxton amos has convinced me we need a weight around 220 in college

Smaller but quicker HWTs have been competing just fine at 285 class in college of late.

If anything, instead of creating a 220 weight, I would propose dropping 285 limit down to 265lbs.

It makes for better conditioned wrestlers and more action.

Did anyone see a schedule for this tournament? When are the quarters?
Not to answer your question directly, but WJPA 95.3 or 1450 usually does first/second day radio. Usually can stream from their site, but the best bet is MSAsports.net. It’s a good alternative to Flo or if you are traveling. They are based in Washington, PA (WPIAL) so they will lean to those kids, but Mark Uriah is one of the best in the business. He knows it’s a national event and he’ll try to work that in where it needs to be.

WANB is based in Greene county and they will be heavy Greene county kids.Waynesburg/Jeff Morgan. Little more relaxed and colorful than WJPA.

Welp, that about covers it! Appreciate it.

I'm happy to get a good look at Starocci. Haven't seen much of him. Looks great so far. Would work out perfectly to have Starocci and Brooks replace Hall and Nickal.
Manville could be the next cutch is what your saying?

Hard for me to imagine Manville getting a spot. I'd definitely recruit over him and expect Cael to do as much. Here's what I hope for after Cenzo/Hall/Cassar graduate

125- Busiello or Teske
133- Teasdale
141- RBY
149- N Lee
157- Verkleeren or Berge
165- J Lee
174- Starocci
184- Brooks
197- Beard
Hwt- Nevills

Of course, guys like McHenry and Ferrari would be welcome additions, but 74/84 recruiting will be top priority

Teaz with another TF 19-4. 2 TDs and NF in 1st for a 7-2 lead. Gave a locked hands call....by the 2nd ref no less.

then in second went turk to NF and tilt to NF and finished with blast double.

tried two inside trips but the kid had height on him and he had to bail from danger.

very fluid

Teaz just smacked down Rhone from Benton 17-2. just tilted/turned the crap out of him.

Ive watched rhone for a while and i dont know I have ever seen that happen to him. I recognize he isnt on Teaz level, but elite area kids getting dominated still shocks the system.

guys like hoffman, hidley, and so many others you see when they are kids asking for money for candy growing up and now they are on flo and making college choices...great stuff.

I posted a concern after seeing the Comacho result, but it's obvious there shouldn't be one. Also helped that Glory dismantled the competion at the Beast of the East
