After reading this, it sounds like they want to move a few of the districts/regions to a single venue for multiple classes.
In MN, we have Sections, then State. There are 3 classes. Some sections are separate tournaments for each class (EX: Section 2A are at X, Section 2AA are at Y, and Section 2AAA are at Z). The Section that I coach in has all three classes in one Arena. I can tell you that it is 85% loved. Parents, families, and wrestlers are tight knit in our area. They often cheer for eachother's nearby teams and individuals at the State Tournament because they take pride in being from Section 1. The finals are electric, in the smaller arena, plus it helps guys get acclimated to post-season in something other than a High School.
Some of the southern metro suburbs have made pushes to move the big school section out and rotate it, but I hope it never happens. It wouldn't be the same.
Sidebar: Kasson-Mantorville (Berge's, Kennedy) is now in the same SECTION as Simley (Jake Short, Nick Wanzek). One of them won't make the State Tournament, and they've both been in the Top 4, if not Top 2, the last decade.
