Could be worse. We could just have a terrible every day coach like Pitt.
I want Coach 4-15 to improve, not leave. Yes, he’s awful on the 3 success metrics (beat OSU, beat UM, win the conference). But, he’s won far more than he’s lost overall, and I haven’t heard of a legit candidate to take over if he leaves.
It will come down to how he can finish the season., upset alert certainly against Maryland., any smart coach. Ow knows we have absolutely zero threat at receiver.. zero…
The only real shame if Franklin would leave would be if we lost Diaz as a DC.
I'd lean towards losing Yurchich being bad, but I don't know if the stupid trick plays were him or Franklin. The offense just plain sucked and looked completely unprepared today regardless.

If Georgia and Clemson can find coaches to elevate them to multiple NCs and CFP appearances then why can't PSU? Mark Richt had solid GA teams for years but they needed Smart to get them to next level. PSU admin seems too scared to reach for great. It is time to be honest. Our love of PSU keeps the program stable. We show up, we scream, we spend, there are hundreds of thousands of us all over world. We are situated in prime recruiting territory. Why are we scared to do what needs to be done? We are not Nebraska, in middle of nowhere for recruiting.
PSU admin is happy to have Franklin. He's a "nice guy," keeps players out of trouble, and overall puts out a program good enough to keep things interesting. PSU admin is not interested in greatness.
Commitments are made to get to the next level when you hire a new coach. PSU keeps giving Franklion more and more and they keep getting the same old, same old which is OK but Krafty wants championships and not sure if Franklion is that guy. Good guy, good coach but not on the level necessary to win championships. Nevertheless, I’m good with 9-3, 10-2 ever year and a major bowl. But major donations will not be made for the same old, same old.
Fleck. Guy is intense and wants to win. Demands alot of players. You wonder what he could do with top level talent and top money for a staff
To be fair, we probably lost this game when Ohio State got Marvin Harrison Jr. The problem is that guys like that see what Day does and decide they want to play there. They aren't looking at Penn State. We often get guys who would be depth at a place like Ohio State as our lead receivers.
