Football Season Tickets in High Demand
More than 3,600 new 2017 football season tickets have been sold

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 9, 2017 – A Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl appearance last fall has the Blue & White faithful even more excited for the 2017 season. Penn State fans have purchased more than 3,600 new season tickets and have renewed their season tickets at a nearly 92 percent rate.
The 3,612 new season tickets sold is a significant jump of nearly 2,300 tickets from last year at this time (1,358), which is an increase of 166 percent. Last week, 776 new season tickets were purchased, which was a record weekly total in the Coach James Franklin era.
The 91.7 percent paid renewal rate is very strong for early February and is 7.3 percentage points higher than last year at this time (84.4).
The 2017 Penn State season ticket renewal and Nittany Lion Club membership renewal deadlines were February 1. There were no increases in the price of Penn State football season tickets for the 2017 season.
For information on joining the Nittany Lion Club and purchasing new 2017 season tickets, as well as club seating in Beaver Stadium, fans can visit www.PSUnrivaled.com, call 1-800-NITTANY weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. or visit the Bryce Jordan Center ticket office weekdays from 10 a.m-6 p.m. Information is also available on www.NittanyLionClub.com. Fans that purchase season tickets now will still be eligible to participate in March’s seat selection.
The 2017 home schedule features a trio of non-conference games, including Pitt’s first visit to Beaver Stadium since 1999. The Nittany Lions open the season against Akron (Sept. 2) and face Pitt (Sept. 9) and Georgia State (Sept. 16) to close out a three-game homestand to start the year. In Big Ten play, Penn State welcomes Indiana (Sept. 30), Michigan (Oct. 21), Rutgers (Nov. 11 - Homecoming) and Nebraska (Nov. 18) to Happy Valley.
The culmination of Penn State football’s spring practices is the Blue-White Game presented by Xfinity, which is set for Saturday, April 22 at 3 p.m. in Beaver Stadium. The Blue-White Game is the centerpiece for a full weekend of Penn State activities April 21-23. As in previous years, admission will be free for the Blue-White Game.
