I don’t have any children, so I’ve lived vicariously through the successes of some niece and nephew sports success.
My youngest nephew is a lacrosse player who played varsity as a freshman at PA public school. last year, as a sophomore, he transferred to and played JV for a private school in MD with an elite lacrosse team. He just made varsity as a junior for this private school team, and everyone is very excited.

That’s a big deal, playing varsity lacrosse at a Maryland private school.

Thanks to Covid-19, my nephew got cheated out of his first varsity season as a junior at Calvert Hall, but he has had enough exposure In travel LAX to get recruited by smaller schools (Division 2 and 3). He just committed (no scholarships at D3) to play lacrosse at Florida Institute of Technology. He and his family are very excited. Hopefully he will be able to have a senior season at Calvert Hall and then have a great time at FIT.

Why no kids?
Maybe no room on his farm?

Ranger Dan: Calvert Hall is usually a highly ranked LAX school. Your nephew merits serious props for making that team. What position does he play?
He plays Long stick middle. Last year Calvert hall has been ranked number 1 in the country last year before COVID-19

Congratulations! Lovely area, we spent a long weekend there when my wife and daughter checked out Rollins College. If/when you are going to Melbourne to see some games make sure to go to Lou's Blues in Canova Beach. It's a classic dive bar located Oceanside, with cheap beer and burgers. Live music. Fun vibe. Bras hang from the beams of the downstairs bar- but I didn't get to personally witness any additions. There is a Raddison next door where every room has a direct ocean view and rooms are often on discount sites (and you can crawl home on the beach from the bar). A more upscale Hilton is next to the Raddison. We also loved Longdoggers in Satellite Beach...classic roadside grub hub with tanned Florida kids hanging out...like a Sunshine State Arnold's from Happy Days fame. F.I.T. is a quality education- we have 2 kids from our school attending at this time. They love it. Enjoy!

Does he start? LSMs are specialty guys. Super hard to get on the field.
I’m not a big lacrosse guy, had to look up the name of his position. He played (not started) varsity as a freshman on his York County public HS team. He played JV at Calvert Hall as sophomore. He made the varsity team last spring, but am not sure if he started or not as I never got to a game. Even when he is the top guy at his position, he seems to rotate in and out a lot, bot situationally and to sub out for another player.

Just being on the varsity roster at a Miaa A conference school pretty much assured him of being able to play in college. Best of luck to him. Enjoy those 4 years.

Yup, LSMs transition on and off the field for face offs and to add a pole to D.
