This is to give a shout out to what the wrestling team has accomplished. Last time Penn State's wrestling team lost was 4 years ago: Feb. 15, 2015 (to Oklahoma State, 21-18). As you all know, PSU has a 57 dual win streak during this 4-year span.
To give some perspective to the team's accomplishment, look at the Hawkeye's greatest streak history:
They lost (to Oklahoma State) on Jan. 5, 2008 -- then went on a streak of 69 wins in a row, which spanned just 3 years, 11 days.
Their win streak was broken by a 15-15 tie (with Oklahoma State) on Jan. 16, 2011.
Their unbeaten streak of 84 duals without a loss ended Jan. 13, 2012 (when they lost to Oklahoma State, 17-16), a span of 4 years, 8 days. Iowa's unbeaten streak of 84 duals is an NCAA record (tied with Oklahoma State).
Looking at the time spans give a somewhat different perspective of the magnitude of what CS teams have already accomplished -- with more to come! No claims or anything along those lines. I'm just loving the ride as there is so much to be excited about.
