I have not watched a lot of scUM this year but from what I can tell McCarthy is accurate, very mobile, makes good decisions and does not make many mistakes. Maybe I am heaping too much praise on him? I know he has had all day to pass.

Obviously we have to contain Corum. But I am concerned about McCarthy. I know he is young without any big game experience but he was a 5 star and seems to be playing well. He loves the tight end. Although I think Jacobs, King and Carter matchup well against their TE.

What does Diaz do to rattle McCarthy and get him out of his comfort zone? Our secondary is very good so do we blitz the LBs? Do you think we can get any pressure on him with our front 4?

You should be worried. He has the best completion percentage in college football. Throws very well on the run.

If Penn St gets blitz happy, he will burn you.

He was a 4 star, not 5.

He also went on the road against Iowa and played very well. Most Big 10 fans will tell you, Iowa is the hardest place to play in the Big Ten.

Go back and watch the Maryland game, he made a bunch of bad decisions...Under pressure he isn't nearly as good. You mix up the coverages and you send blitzes from the blind side.

Not saying McCarthy isn’t talented, but that high completion percentage has certainly been aided by facing pitiful competition which results in his having all day long to throw.

Two points:
1. Chop Robinson will be an issue for their o line even when we’re not blitzing.
2. Manny will also blitz freely to apply pressure, safe in the knowledge that our secondary is one of the best in the country, and can handle the Michigan receivers man up.

he was 18 of 24 for 155 yards. And this was against a very good D but one of the worst offenses in power 5 football (meaning, he got a lot of time on the field; almost 34 minutes to Iowa's 26). he had -12 yards rushing.

Kid is good but he hasn't faced a complete team and his Iowa performance wasn't all big ten, by a long shot.

Yet you only beat lowly Northwestern by 10. Lol

??? Listen people on here tolerate a lot of your Bullshit and you just throwing stuff around with no real proof. When you say, most Big 10 fans will say Kinnick is the hardest place to play, truly shows your an idiot. First off , how would any fan, know that one stadium is tougher to plat at then another? Is it their dealings with opposing fans?? Is it what they perceive as being intimidating??? I mean truly how the players react to a visiting teams stadium is all that helps to dictate any type of bearing on a game. As a matter of fact, there was a recent poll of 68 former players , Power 5 and Non-Power 5, and guess what, Iowa was not on the list. Penn State was 1, LSU #2, Oregon # 3, and tied at #4 were Ohio State, Michigan and Texas.

So who gives a shit what people say. Michigan won in Iowa.... Big Deal..... Its been a proven fact, that most people who follow football.... DONT KNOW SHIT ABOUT IT!!! They watch it, but have no concepts of coverages, schemes, etc... If you are the type of fan that thinks JJ is a proven warrior cause he won in Kinnick, you my friend are one of the most, I mentioned above. Oh and please post your poll of fans from all over the Big 10 that ranked Kinnick as the hardest place to play. I have been to Iowa, Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin and as someone who played college ball, I would rather play in Kinnick then those places, not even close!

Double digit win against the toughest Road venue in the Big Ten. I’ll take it.
Not even in the top 2 toughest road venues in the Big Ten.

I could just as easily say "Double digit win against a conference foe in a hurricane; I'll take it."

Sorry bro, this seems to hurt your feelings. I can honestly say as a Michigan fan, going to Iowa, makes me the most nervous.

PSU has much better db's than Iowa. Tom Brady will pick any team apart until you start hitting him so lets see what happens if he starts to get knocked around.
PSU can and will score more than 13 points. McCarthy is going to need to throw the ball more than he did against Iowa which can lead to more mistakes. In my opinion this game is a toss up and will come down to mistakes.

I think Michigan fans are going to be surprised how good our D is.

Venues that make YOU nervous and "toughest road venues" are NOT the same thing.

Who’s Penn State signature win this year? Don’t say Auburn. They are basically Minnesota this year.
Minnesota who might win the west? If not Auburn, the Purdue who also might win the West.

Who is Michigan's marquee win? Maryland? LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

I can speak for the whole Big Ten when I say nobody respects the Big Ten west division

Tough road game with a young quarterback. I’ll take it.
You can't have it both ways: either the West is garbage (and therefore, Purdue and Minnesota (which is somehow a proxy for Auburn) are garbage) or Iowa is a good win. They both cannot be true.

Is Iowa overall a good team? Probably not. Is winning on the road Iowa impressive at any time? Of course.

Penn State has a 30 year old quarterback. You guys should be winning against average opponents.

Is Auburn overall a good team? Probably not. Is winning on the road in a raucous SEC stadium against a team with top 20 level "star" talent impressive at any time? Of course. Is beating the snot of of said SEC opponent quite impressive and far more impressive than anything Michigan has done? Of course.

So since Michigan has a young QB you expect them to lose against average opponents? Cool and duly noted.
