125: Conaway vs. Klimara ...

Per 1:
Klimara with an early TD and then OOB, 0-2. JC gets the esc, 1-2. Klimara off of a front head lock and is able to spin around for the TD, 1-4. Then JC with the esc, 2-4. JC gets a single, Klimara with a counter, JC with an elevator, they scramble and JC with the TD, 4-4. Ride out for JC (nearly an esc at the buzzer).

Per 2:
Klimara starts down. He works up, and is taken back to the mat. After some time, Klimara gets the esc, 4-5. I think JC has 25 sec of RT. OOB. JC in on a leg and gets the TD, 6-5. OOB. Almost no defense by Klimara on that shot by JC. Up and taken to mat by JC. OOB. Klimara up and taken back down to mat. He's flattened Klimara, but then he starts working up. Spiral ride to end of period.

Per 3:
JC has 1:08 in RT. JC is down to start the period. JC tried to get out but got caught and gives up 3 NF, 6-8. JC tries a roll and nearly gets caught, but then he gets an esc, and they are OOB. I have it 7-8. Video review on the esc (were they OOB before the esc?). Esc stands, so 7-8. RT not a factor. JC in on a double, Klimara trying to lock around waist. Stalemate. 36 sec left. Klimara is working the edge and stalling. OOB with 9 sec. Stalling warning all on Klimara but too late.

Giving up the NF was the difference in the match for JC.

0-3, Oklahoma State

Conaway another slow start and then caught in a 3 point near fall was

the difference. *

Conaway loses 8-7. Was up 6-5 with riding time and

started on bottom in the final period and JC got sloppy and caught on his back for 3 near fall. Difference in the match. Tough loss.

133: Gulibon vs. Harding ...

Per 1
Jimmy in on a quick single and gets the TD, 2-0. Jimmy putting on a good ride, and nearly got swipes off of a wrist lock. OOB. Jimmy flattens him off of the restart. He tried for a cradle and missed, so he gave up an esc, 2-1. Harding shoots but Jimmy gets a TD off of the counter. Harding's shot was from too far out -- easy to counter. Jimmy turns him but doesn't get him to 45 degrees, so no swipes. OOB with 10 sec left. 2:19 of RT for Jimmy. End of period. 2:28 of RT for Jimmy

Per 2:
Gulibon takes down. Off of a sitout Jimmy grabs and ankle and gets the reversal and gets the pin!!!!!!!!!!!

6-3, PSU

Jimmy in complete control. Over two minutes of RT before the pin. *

*

141: Moss vs. Dean Heil ...

Per 1:
Lots of collar ties, then Heil in on a double switches to a body lock, nothing. Heil with an underhook, and they are free in the center. Heil in on a single, Moss with a whizzer, Heil trying to step over, Heil picks up the leg, and eventually he gets the TD, 0-2. Moss up and out, 1-2. He had Kade dancing on 1 leg, but Kade nearly got out of it. They both tried to drop levels and shot at the same time -- just banged foreheads and chests. End of period

Per 2:
Moss takes down. He's up to a base, and then to feet and out, 2-2. Not a lot of riding time there. Collar ties in the center by both. 30 sec of RT for Heil. Moss with a front headlock, but OOB. 1:03 left. Heil tried a duck, nothing. Moss has a front headlock, stalemate. 30 sec left. Moss shot for a leg but missed. End of period.

Per 3:
Heil starts down. Moss grabs the ankle but Heil is out shortly thereafter, 2-3. Ear to ear, Moss tries a throw off of a headlock but they are OOB. Heil with a reach, nothing. Moss shoots from too far out, nothing. 40 sec left. Moss showing more effort now. Shot by Moss, nothing. Moss with a toss, and he gets a TD off a scramble, 4-3. OOB. 10 sec left, and Heil gets an esc, 4-4. You can't let that easy an esc.

OT
OOB after 45 sec. Moss in on a single, whizzer by Heil, almost a TD but the buzzer sounds.

TB1
Heil takes down. Sitout by Heil then to his feet, taken back down. Heil tries a switch. Ref stops it at 15 sec -- not sure why. Heil tries a roll, and he gets a reversal with 7 sec left.

TB2
Moss is down. He's up to his feet. Stalling call on Heil and an esc. Moss tries a toss and slips and Heil gets the TD. Final is 8-5.

If Moss didn't give up the esc at the end of regulation, he wins the match. That was poor on his poor. On his feet, he seemed to only be interested in tosses -- 1 he got for a TD, and one in TB2 was a mess for him.

6-6

Moss loses 8-5 in overtime. Moss took Heil down for

a 4-3 lead in the 3rd and he could not hold him down giving up the escape. Moss looked gassed. Conaway and Moss both should have won.

Moss couldn't hold upper position for 10 second count at end of

regulation was the difference. Lots of front headlocks for Moss - would like to see him be able to do something more off that.*

149: Beitz vs. Kindig ...

Per 1:
Kindig in on a single quickly, Beitz with a whizzer, and they are OOB. Kindig jumped the whistle but no caution. Collar ties. Beitz reaches for an ankle, then Kindig gets a leg, and he gets a TD. Cael wants a conference, and John Smith jumps in as well. I think there is debate as to whether there was a TD or not. I think they went to video review -- hard to follow the announcer. Now confirmed they are in video review. TD is waved off. Buzzer goes off on restart. John Smith wanted a conference. And finally they restart. Beitz shoots but is blocked. Reaches for an ankle, and blocked. Kindig on an outside single, Beitz comes out behind and they get a stalemate. Funky stuff. Beitz reaches for another ankle, nothing. And again, nothing. Either he's not committing, or he's getting blocked. End of period, scoreless

Per 2:
Beitz takes down. Beitz puts him in a cradle off of a sitout and gets the pin!!!!!!!!! Wow, didn't see that coming. 3:36, I think, on the pin.

12-6, PSU

Beitz with a huge PINN!!!!!! Caught Kindig in a craddle.

PSU -12 OK STATE - 6

Surpise of the day. Great job by Beitz. Locked in the cradle as soon as it

was available. *

This is horrible by Alton. Why is he even wresling if he is

this out of shape. Embarrassing!!!!

What in the bleep is Alton doing out there ...

if he obviously has zero tank? Embarrassing for both the wrestler and the staff which sent him out.

157: Dylan Alton vs. Collica ...

Per 1:
Dylan has a single off of a counter (bad shot by Collica), and gets the TD, 2-0. Quick esc, 2-1. OOB. Blood time for Dylan. Collica wrestles a lot from his knees. Collica gets to a leg, Dylan with a whizzer, OOB. 1 min left. OOB. Collica gets an ankle, Dylan dives over and gets an ankle, crazy scramble, finally a stalemate. 11 sec. Collica with a sloppy shot, nothing.

Per 2:
Collica takes down. He's up quickly, and Dylan gives up the esc, 2-2. Alton doesn't seem all that spry on his feet. Stalling warning on Dylan. Collica gets a leg and gets the TD, 4-2. He cuts him, 3-4. Collica gets another TD off a counter and then OOB, 3-6. Collicat cuts him, 4-6. Stalling call on Alton is a point, 4-7. OOB. Collicat in on a leg and gets the TD, 4-9. Cut, 5-9. Collicat in on a leg, gets a cradle, and gets 3 NF before OOB. 4-12. Alton's conditioning looks terrible. Collica cuts him, 5-12. Stalling call on Alton on the Alton for just flattening out, 5-13.

Per 3:
Some confusion on the score. Alton on bottom. Scoreboard is 5-16. Collica cuts him, 6-16. Collica gets a single and gets the TD, 6-17. Alton does very little. Collica cuts him, and then he gets another TD. 8-19 is the score. Collica with a bad shot, but Dylan simply ties up. Stalemate. Collica with another shot and a TD, 8-21. Collica cuts him, 9-21. Collica dives in on another leg, and gets the TD, 9-23. I think Alton got hit with another stall point, so it's a TF at 9-24.

Wow. Dylan is nowhere close to being in shape, based on that match.

12-11, PSU

Re: What in the bleep is Alton doing out there ...

The worst performance i have ever seen!

I can not believe they sent him out there. He was completely

gassed at the start of the 2nd period. Law or Frey does not get TF by the OK State wrestler.

a signal from the coach?

after 4 years of contribution is coach letting the wrestlers decide who may go in the Big Ten's" If so Alton took himself out of action going forward on this lack of a showing.

165: Hammond vs. Dieringer ...

tough match for Garett

Per 1:
Quick TD for Dieringer, 0-2, off of a single to a double. Dieringer really working the right arm, and potentially dangerous stoppage. Not much movement from Hammond off the whistle, and now he's flat. Dieringer working a hammerlock. He gets 2 swipes and then an esc (nearly a reversal for Hammond), 1-4. Dieringer with a duck under or something like that for a TD, 1-6. Dieringer working a 2-on-1 on the left wrist, but Hammond ends up rolling thru and escaping, 2-6. End of period. Dieringer with a lot of RT

Per 2:
Hammond takes bottom. Dieringer cuts him, 3-6. Hammond backs off the mat and gets hit with a stalling warning. Dieringer on a single, then Hammond had a single but Dieringer whips Hammond to his back and gets the TD, 3-8. OOB. 2:53 of RT for Dieringer, and counting. Hammond is flattened again and Dieringer is working the right arm. Swipes after Diering throws in a half on the left arm. 2 NF, and then stopped for potentially dangerous, 3-10. Hammond up off the whistle, but Dieringer drops to the ankle. he gets a 5 count and gets a stalling count. 4:02 of RT at end of period.

Per 3:
Dieringer starts down. Hammond releases him, 3-11. 1:15 left. Collar ties and then Dieringer gets a single and gets the TD, 3-13. OOB with about 30 sec left. Hammond up and out, 4-13. 4:18 in RT for Dieringer. OOB. End of period. With RT, 4-14

174: Brown vs. Kyle Crutchmer ...

attendance is 4,691

Per 1:
Brown heavy on the head (big surprise). No shots thru 1st min. Lots of collar ties, underhooks, etc. Still no real shots thru 2 min. Brown with a shot but not even close. Brown to a leg but Crutchmer gets his hips back, nothing. End of period.

Per 2:
Crutchmer takes bottom. Crutchmer up really quickly and gets an esc, 0-1. Brown shot off of it and nearly a TD, but OOB. Brown more aggressive off of his feet. Brown with a front headlock to a single and a TD, 2-1. 1 min left. Brown tried a pull back on the edge for back points but Crutch twisted and Brown got sloppy and gave up an esc, 2-3. Brown to feet and out, 3-3. Announces says it's 3-4. Did they give an esc and then a TD to Crutchmer? Brown nearly with a TD off a counter, but OOB. Brown to a single off a whistle but the buzzer sounds.

Per 3:
Brown is down. He's too his feet, and then escapes, 4-4. No RT. Brown gets an ankle pick and then the TD, 6-4. Brown has him flattened, and RT is building. 1 min left. RT over 1:15. On the edge, and then OOB. 36 sec left. Caution on Crutchmer on the restart. Crutchmer up quickly and is out, 6-5. Geez, Crutchmer gets a TD off of a shot from way out with about 10 sec left. With RT, it's tied, 7-7

OT:
Crutchmer shoots from way out, Brown tries to work it, after a long scramble Brown with the TD, 9-7.

Closer than I expected. Brown got sloppy a couple of times.

15-15, we're tied

184: McCutcheon vs. Nolan Boyd ...

could be a big match, as they are pretty evenly ranked (19th vs. 18th), and there are only 3 bouts left in the dual.

Per 1:
OOB after a lot of hand fighting. No real shots by either guy. Boyd working the edge (a common theme of Cowboy wrestlers?). Boyd with a shot, Cutch with a headlock, and OOB, 42 sec left. Boyd shots for a single, blocked, and another headlock, stalemate. End of period.

Per 2:
Boyd takes down. Boyd to his feet, turns back in and gets the esc, 0-1. Cutch never seems to work angles on his feet. Boyd gets a single, Cutch locks the waist, and Boyd gets the TD, 0-3. Potentially dangerous stops things. Cutch not much movement off whistle, works to base, but is taken back down. 15 sec left. Cutch in a ball. End of period.

Per 3:
Cutch is down. Caution on Boyd on the restart. Cutch with a roll, back down, tripods up, and then Cutch into a ball. Good movement off the whistle but nothing. Then he's to his feet, Boyd takes him back down, and he's up again, and taken back down again. To his feet again, then back down, and OOB. RT over 2 min. 42 sec left. False start on Boyd, 2nd caution. Cutch up, Boyd to side, and taken back down. To base again. Stalling call on Boyd. Rideout for Boyd. With RT, 0-4.

Cutch did almost nothing in that match. I keep expecting to see more action from him when on his feet, but it's slow to arrive.

Re: MacCutcheon has got to step up. Been waiting for it all

I'm sorry but he has no Offense.

McCutcheon just can't win a big match. Ok State would be

killing PSU right now if not for Beitz catching Kindig and pinning him. There is no way PSU was going to win that match. Conaway leading 6-5 and starting from bottom in the 3rd period gets sloppy and put on his back and loses 8-7 in a match he had completely in control. Moss just had to hold his opponent down for 10 seconds to win 4-3 and he can't do it and loses in OT. Alton should never have wrestled. Law may not have won, but he wouldn't have gotten TF. Poor effort by the Lions today. They need a pin by Morgan.

197: McIntosh vs. Luke Bean ...

Per 1:
After a bit, headgear issue for McIntosh. McIntosh reaching for an ankle, nothing. Bean barely doing anything other than avoiding being taken down. Bean with a reach (in response to my comment) -- his 1st attempt in over 2 minutes. Bean reaches for another leg, nothing. 20 sec left. McIntosh with a half-shot, nothing. Scoreless -- 3rd straight match with no score in 1st period.

Per 2:
McIntosh is down. To his feet and out, 1-0. 1:40 to go. McIntosh not moving a lot on his feet. Seems to be content to be tied up. Bean shoots from way far out, puts Bean in a headlock switches to a single and gets a TD, 3-0. McIntosh seemed to be waiting for that shot. OOB. Bean starts up, taken back down. 30 sec. McIntosh working him hard with a leglace. No swipes.

Per 3:
Bean takes neutral. RT at 40 sec for McIntosh. McIntosh in on a single, working it, and gets the TD, 5-0. 1 min left. RT over a minute. McIntosh trying to turn Beam. Beam to his feet, and OOB. 35 sec left. 1:14 in RT. Caution on Beam on the restart. Beam up quickly, but McIntosh drives him OOB. 28 sec left. Beam to his feet, nearly gets a reversal, but McIntosh responded then OOB. Then OOB again. McIntosh cuts him, 5-1. OOB with 1 sec left. 1:39 of RT. With RT, it's a 6-1 victory.

18-18 in the dual

285: Gingrich vs. Marsden ...

both Gingrich and Lawson were introduced, but Grinagain gets the call. The winner of the match will determine which team wins the dual.

Per 1:
Marsden in on a shot but OOB. 1:58 left. Marsden with another shot, nothing, Marsden almost tripped himself. ;) 1 min left. Scoreless -- 4th match in a row with nothing in 1st period.

Per 2:
Gingrich takes down. on his base, steps over an ankle, trying to backdoor to a reversal, nearly gets it, not sure if it will be an esc or a reversal, and after a long scramble it's a reversal, 2-0. Marsden is up, and gets the esc, 2-1. Marsden has 32 sec of RT. OOB with 20 sec left. End of period.

Per 3:
Marsden starts down. He's working to his feet, but OOB after 8 sec. marsden up to his feet, but OOB. Gingrich with a stall warning. 1:44 left. Marsden to his feet again, and Gingrich let him go, 2-2. RT not a factor (9 sec in Marsden's favor). 1:30 left. Mostly ear-to-ear pushing into each other. OOB with 1 min left. Neither guy seems to want to shoot. End of period. Not 1 shot after Marsden got the esc.

OT:
i hope somebody shoots. ;) Gingrich in on a leg, but Marsden gets the leg down to the mat, then OOB. Damn. 40 sec left. Gingrich with another shot, blocked, and then Marsden with a half-hearted counter. Gingrich in on a single, Marsden hips down, then Marsden shoots, and Gingrich reaches across for the ankle. At the buzzer, very close to a TD for Marsden -- going to a video review. Either way, each guys get a breather. After review, no TD

TB1:
Marsden is down. Gingricgh takes an ankel, and then Marsden gets an ankle and gets the reversal, 2-4, Gingrich tries the same thing, and then after a scramble a stalling warning on Marsden to stop action. Both coaches want a conference. Video review -- CS must think Gingrich got a reversal (didn't hear that announced). Seems like a long review. Call stands. Gingrich with a roll and then to his feet but runs out of time.

TB 2L
quick esc for Gingrich, 3-4. Gignrich reaches, gets a leg, Marsden gets his hips back, and runs out of time.
