I'm really amazed after all the OL injuries how this team was able to win the BIG championship game. They really struggled specially in run blocking after the injuries but the offense still was able to put up big numbers specifically against one of best defenses in nation.
If this offense struggles in one area they seem just to adjust and exploit defenses with something else.
Can't wait to watch this team roll next season with a healthy and talented OL.

You can credit all that too JoMo and Limegrover. They have done an amazing job with the offense and know how to put people in the right place at the right time to be successful. It took a while in the beginning of the year, but look at us now!

One of the things that amazes me is the lack of holding penalties called against Penn State. Think about it, a mish mosh of very young guys, often playing out of their natural positions. You would expect a lot more holding penalties against them.

Agree. We lost both Tackles (and the second string tackle).

Great coaching...This offense is O-line friendly. We've talked about the problems of running an O that is under center (lack of power game), but we haven't talked much about the benefits of the Zone-read. In the Zone-Read, the RB or QB gets the ball and gets to pick their lane. So the Oline can simply take their opponent whichever way he wants to go. So if the play is designed to be run between right guard and center; but the DT slants into that hole, the guard can simply push him toward the center (the way he slanted) and let the hole develop between Guard and Tackle. This is a much easier way to block. The RB gets the ball several yards deep, as opposed to an I formation, where the RB gets the ball right in front of the hole. He just doesn't have as much time to react. This is where Barkley really shines, IMHO

Should only be a underdog in ONE game next year, I think everyone knows what games that is.

I think this O line is coming together. Same five will go in the Rose bowl, they'll be ready to go.

hope that turns out to be correct. the run game has not been very effective vs Indiana, Sparty or Wisky (that is RB carries when the game is on the line). we got running yds on Sparty after the blowout started. we have a lot of negative runs on 1st down since the line shuffled. on the other hand the pass blocking is darn good.

Actually, pass protection against Wisconsin after the 1st Qtr - especially in the 2nd Half - was outstanding. I believe Wisconsin only recorded 1 sack all evening and it was in the 1st Qtr. Go look at each of the 4 TD passes thrown by TM - PSU repeatedly burned 1-High and No-High Safety looks from Wisconsin as they were clearly focused on stopping our running game with their Front 7. On the last TD throw, PSU isolated TJ Watt on Barkley on a sideline wheel-fly route by lining up 3 wide left (2 in the slot obviously) as well as a Flanker lined up on the left side - this alignment put Wisconsin's entire Secondary lined up skewed to the left-side of the field (the defenses right) and cleared out the entire right-side of the field for Barkley who was matched up with TJ Watt with zero help behind him....as you would expect, Barkley had no problem running straight past him and McSorley threw a perfect ball over-the-top. Wisconsin had the #2 Rushing Defense in the nation in YPG (HIT THE LINK) - Barkley ran for 84 yards and had a 4.4 ypc average (he also caught the go ahead TD pass on the beautifully executed wheel route where J-Mo saw what Wisco was doing and isolated TJ Watt on Barkley in a severe mismatch which PSU used, and abused, at just the right moment). The notion that PSU's OL had a bad game against Wisconsin is GREATLY exaggerated and quite the opposite is the case - PSU lit Wisconsin up for 435 Total Yards and 38 points, please point me to all these other offenses that did that to Wisconsin!

I am so happy we have Limegrover as a coach. He did a hell of a job at Northern Illinois and Minnesota.I think he was a great addition.I talked to high school coach that was at spring ball a couple of times and came away impressed with him.
