I doubt it impacts either decisionWhat’s the consensus about the Herring commitment? Does this help or not effect efforts to bring in Bo and/or Jax?
Willie has him #20 in his class, he’s been wrestling 138.Can’t find much on Sam, what’s his weight and overall ranking
Piggy backing on @GableBeer, Willie projects him at 149. I haven’t seen updated weight rankings for a while but he was 7th at 138 overall and highest ranked 138 if you took seniors out after Super 32Can’t find much on Sam, what’s his weight and overall ranking
Willie has him projected a weight aboveI know this isn’t something to worry about as fans, but doesn’t he project as the same weight in college as Blaze?
And here I thought Blaze was projected at 141 and Bassett at 149.A McCort kid, highly ranked and slotted in a weight projection between Blaze and Bassett. What’s not to like
There's a bit of info out there:Can’t find much on Sam, what’s his weight and overall ranking
I’m going by Willie. He has BB at 157And here I thought Blaze was projected at 141 and Bassett at 149.
Personal opinion. With the kids who will be committing to colleges on that team, none of them impact each other. The only one I could see having an impact on is Miller who may want to wrestle with Bo. Other than that, these kids have been on numerous teams and work out with so many different kids weekly. I think they're all mature enough, in wrestling anyways, that they're going to do whats best for themselves. What’s the consensus about the Herring commitment? The Sam Herring pick up is extremely under the radar. I really think he is gonna win a PIAA State Title this season and next.Sam is a tremendous wrestler (#20 on the big board right now) with a ton of potential and he is going to be a tremendous addition to the room from Day 1. Insanely hard worker but truly just lives and breaths the sport of wrestling.
He is at NLWC all the time and loves the team and the team loves him.
Kind of going under-the-radar, but a nice result to beat a 2X DIII champion. Believe he went undefeated both years.
He's good, and he has a chance at this, but I'm not ready to say he will. Depends on how the weights shake out.The Sam Herring pick up is extremely under the radar. I really think he is gonna win a PIAA State Title this season and next.
Thanks for the link. That’s ann interesting article on Bo, Jax and herring.I wasn't sure where to drop this, so here it is. The link uses a site that removes the paywall. Talks about Bassett, Forrest and Herring.
Wrestling with decisions: Lucrative NIL deals await Bishop McCort trio
Herring best wrestling is still ahead of him. I hear him and Messenbrink are very tight. Baum could be a problem for him as well as Harer. Herring probably majors Fanella. He's good, and he has a chance at this, but I'm not ready to say he will. Depends on how the weights shake out.
This year he'll likely have both Harer and Baum at his weight. Maybe Detar or Fanella too?
Regardless, nice pickup for the good guys.
Pretty sure he is an AWA guy which I love. I’ll take as many Askren kids at PSU as possibleHaakon Peterson (2026 AWA wrestler) visited PSU this past weekend. Willie has him #37 on the Big Board and projects him at 133
Doesn't seem to have a ton of national results in 2024 (he did win age level Fargo 4 times including U20 106 in 2023) He's at 120 in Willie's rankings now. Based on his pictures, 133 looks right, possibly 141 if he grows more.
It’s been going on since he was 4. No one ever expects the full court press - it just isahem, my son just won his first 6U novice tournament yesterday. when should we expect the full court press?
Not until he is beating Nico in the room🤣ahem, my son just won his first 6U novice tournament yesterday. when should we expect the full court press?
When the phone rings and there is no one there when you answer... it is Bobby Telford with cold feet.ahem, my son just won his first 6U novice tournament yesterday. when should we expect the full court press?
I would hold out until you head from the Slumlord. 😁ahem, my son just won his first 6U novice tournament yesterday. when should we expect the full court press?
That won't happen until he goes someplace else to learn to wrestle first.I would hold out until you head from the Slumlord. 😁
Well, since he’s only 6, he was born shortly after wrestling was invented! That won't happen until he goes someplace else to learn to wrestle first.
