PSU vs Iowa predictions?

Old Phil will accuse you of racism if you do call him. Put his number on here so I can call him.
I'm not going to post the number, but I will mention that the number is online if you search for it and that is the number he sent me.

Racism? Does he know Starocci is black, too? Also, does he know that Iowa fans were racist against AJ?

My daughter bought us two tickets for this meet as a Christmas gift? We are both pumped about the trip! We plan to spend a few extra days in Iowa City. Any suggestions? Any other Penn Staters plan to attend? I would enjoy meeting fellow wrestling fans both Hawks and Lions!

Have you thought about texting coach Phil for suggestions ?

No clue what you like to do but the amana colonies is having its romance weekend. i.e valentines type stuff might want to look into

Craft brewing is also worth checking out if you stay in the Iowa city area. Not all craft breweries though are the same some specialize in ipa hoppy type stuff while others specialize in porters and stouts. Millstreet is in the amana colonies I believe and is more on the stout side .

If your into baseball or tv type attractions you could day trip it to dyersville to the field of dreams , i.e the kevin Costner movie. I’ll warn you though it’s a field in the middle of nowhere . Dyersville though also has a basilica you could check out .

The American pickers shop is just outside of davenport in le Claire . Total tourist shop though and in my opinion not worth the drive . Davenport has the best New York City pizza in the area but again not really worth the drive just for that.

Best views of the Mississippi in my opinion are in Marquette which is across from prairie du Chein but it’s a few hours away. Place called devils peak , short hiking available and your elevated in the Mississippi bluffs it’s stunning.

You raised your daughter right !

Have fun whatever you do.

I'll do it in groupings

1) 285, 197, 174
Any losses amongst those matchups would be more shocking than the Flyers winning the Stanley Cup.

2) 184, 165, 133
Heavy favorites but you never know. (Yes, I consider Psycho a heavy favorite.)

3) 141, 157
Penn State leans. Franek keeps matches tight and Kasak is still building his resume. An upset here wouldn't be terribly surprising.

4) 125, 149
Toss-ups. Before last weekend I would've listed 149 as an Iowa favorite.

It is Carver. Strange things happen.

141, 149?
Kasak, Bartlett?

I posted that it’s really bad form that Gabe is ducking Starocci after calling him overrated and saying that he’s coming after him and winning nationals at 174.
If you talk to Gabes dad, ask him if he'd like to take his stupid comment back that the PSU program has a racist culture or if he'd like to double down on it.

That was @johnstownsteel and the other paid Iowa Haters that were sent by the staff to the Soldier Salute to poison that fine young man against the Iowa faithful.

I am still a little surprised over all the hand wringing with Levi Haines. He has had close matches but he is 11-0 and has only allowed 4 TD's.

In a one match setting anything can happen. Michigan/Iowa is case in point. After the way Michigan wrestled Penn State few if any saw that coming. One thing is sure Iowa will wrestle hard. They might not shoot every 30 seconds but if you make a mistake they will usually capitalize.

I go 8-2 Penn State with bonus at 197 and 285

Blue over Black, 21-12
This, from the same guy who thought Shapiro might be #1 after Cliff Keen, so there’s that.

Aaron throwing some shade at how officials are not being consistent on stalling calls and hands to the face calls (no doubt in reference to his Maryland opponent as it applies to hands to the face ). He also mentioned (my paraphrase) that officials are lax to call stalling against Penn State's opponents for lack of action because they know Penn State wrestlers make up for the lack of action by their high activity levels. He believes the way matches are officiated in regard to being active needs to change.

In Clarion it is about 3 hours away there is the Heartland Museum. The Agriculture Hall as some really cool restored tractors from bygone eras. Many are unique in some way. High crop, orchard model or other unique feature.

I'm just being nosy, but who asked Cael that question starting about 8:05? He's lucky Cael has the temperament he does. Cael has the patience of Job. Could you imagine TnT getting asked something like that?

The question starts out with; "coach, do you think you guys could do a little better job at sequencing when you are on your feet for setting up shots; more fakes, more snaps, stuff like that...".

Here is the video with the 8:05 start.

Not sure, but I think that might have been the same guy who pressed Cael after the dual Friday on technique adjustments. Not sure what outlet, but he looked to be a student.

Also be sure to point out that Myles Martin's dad changed his mind about PSU's racist culture.

And ask him how many minority national champs it would take to change that culture since RBY, Carter, and Aaron twice winning in the same year apparently isn't enough, and Iowa's last was ... Tony Ramos?

Refs are doing Aaron a big favor, giving him regular season practice for the eventual NCAA match against Hidlay.

Serious question, could Aaron just return to center every time Hidlay backs up to force the refs hand? It seems that if he stopped engaging when Hidlay backed up, eventually TH would have to actually wrestle 🤷‍♀️

Serious answer, No. The refs act like its a re-start. Total horse crap.
One has to shoot the opponent off the mat to get a stall call by the refs. And.. they must do it multiple times. 🤮

I've advocated this in the past. I don't know if it would work or not, but it would make the stalling even more apparent..

Though I do think Aaron would need to return to the back edge of the inner circle. Otherwise Hidlay won't need to come all the way back to center, and they'll wind up back at the edge in no time.

Brands with some complimentary words about Cael. Didn’t want to talk much about the Michigan dual. Says Rathjen is going, but sounds like Gabe Arnold isn’t likely.
