PSU W Lacrosse makes NCAA tournament

yeah, they have a tough path. but the NCAA WLAX tournament is relatively small, and as such there aren't many "easy" matches.
to some extent, you could argue that PSU is in the easiest bracket, as the #1, #2, and #3 seeds are in different brackets. The top seeds in PSU's bracket are #4 seed Boston College and #5 seed Stony Brook.
If PSU gets past Penn, then as you noted they'll face Stony Brook. PSU faced them in the past 2 weeks, and lost to them, so it will be a big challenge for PSU to get to the bracket final.
FWIW, Maryland is the #1 seed, UNC is the #2 seed, and James Madison is the #3 seed.
Stony Brook, not Point of course. North shore of Long Island and part of the SUNY system.
unfortunately, they won't get an opportunity for a rematch with Stony Brook. In R1 action today in NCAAs, PSU faced Penn. I wasn't able to watch the match, but I did follow the action on Twitter.
Penn had a 12-9 lead with 19:33 remaining. Cater scored for PSU with 18:01 remaining, to make it 12-10, Penn. Then Daggett scored for PSU with 12:13 remaining to make it 12-11, Penn. Then Carter scored again, to tie it at 12, with 9:36 remaining. Penn got the lead back, 13-12, when they scored with 8:39 left. Katie O'Donnell scored for PSU to tie it at 13, with 8:17 left. Penn re-took the lead, 14-13, with a goal with 4:23 left. Then Katie O'Donnell tied the match, 14-14, with 22.6 seconds left.
Both teams had chances in the 1st OT, but the score was still tied at the end of the 1st OT.
Penn scored with 1.8 seconds left in the 2nd OT to win the match, 15-14.
NCAAs are win or go home, so PSU's season comes to an end a tad earlier than they had hoped. Carter and O'Donnell each scored 5 goals in PSU's losing effort.
15-14. Both Penn And Princeton advance as Princeton beat Syracuse. Penn plays Stony Brook next at Stony Brook. The ladies had a number of tough losses this year.
