post thoughts, impressions, and play-by-play here as replies.

I only have audio, and my cell phone, so I'm not sure if I can do play-by-play.

Is Gulibon injured?

125

1st
Nico nearly an ankle, nothing. Injury time for Jimmenz. Concussion protocol, so we'll have a delay, as there is no time limit on the evaluation. Jimmenz returning to the mat. Nico chooses bottom on the restart. PD with 1:23 left. Caution on both guys. Nico with the esc, 1-0. Nico in on a low single to a double for the TD, 3-0. OOB with 26 sec. Spiral ride, and a rideout. 10 sec of RT

2nd
Nico takes bottom. Nico turns in, reaches for the head, is working, nearly gets the reversal and then a stalemate. Nico up and out on the restart, 4-0. Nico shoots, nothing. Nico working on the head. Nico gets the ankle, stall warning on Jimmenz, working it but no TD. Nico shoots, gets the knee, gets the TD, 6-0.

3rd
Jimmenz has 34 sec of RT. Jimmenz takes obttom. Jimmenz has the esc, 6-1. Nico in on a single, trying to convert and gets the TD, 8-1. OOB with 1:21 left. Caution on Jimmenz so it's a point for Nico, 9-1. Nico tries to work an arm bar, nothing. Nico cuts him, 9-2. 48 sec left. Nico circling, drops in on the left left and get the TD, 11-2. He cuts him, 11-3. OOB with 6 sec left. And that's a wrap.

PSU has a 4-0 lead

Due to the forfeit by Wisky at 133, it's a quick 10-0.

I can't continue with the p-b-p on my cell phone, so I'm bowing out here. I hope someone can step in.

Moss wins 4-1 I believe. Riding time, one take down and escape. Good td off counter. Ref seems to be a bit slow on whistle. I understand a second but both sides struggling.

If that's the refs definition of a second I bet it takes him an hour and a half to watch 60 minutes.

Nolf WBF 6:00 on a reverse half, was up 16-5. Had a measly 6 takedowns. Slacker.

Nolf brutalized Ruschell. Davis missed an opportunity in that first match. With his wrestler having unlimited injury time, he should of got his team on the bus and drove back to Wisconsin. :D
He called J Rob for help during the break. Robinson asked "where was my help for Indiana?" and hung up.

Only listening to Ironhead, but no mention of a controversy and no audible crown booing. Morelli probably should have run away and taken the warning (and win), but whatever.

Thanks. I doubt Cael would ever encourage such a thing and I like that about Cael. You need to learn to win the "right way" - although, I hear what your saying, a wrestler could make that individual decision personally, but I doubt Cael or his staff would do anything to encourage such a thing. Wrestling to the final gun and not trying to literally back your way to a win ultimately will pay dividends. If I'm Cael, I tell him don't second-guess your decision to keep wrestling rather than trying to stall your way to a win - you wrestled the "right way" and you were right there with the #2 wrestler.....keep working and you will get him next time when it matters.

Interesting tidbit from Ironhead: Cassar might be re-enrolling in the spring, making him eligible to potentially fill in at HWT. Regardless, it'll be good to have him in the room working out with MM.

What is Van Curra's background? The club wrestling team had a 285 lber and they were undefeated when I checked last. Is this him? Whatever, kudos to him.

How long is Jan Johnson out?

Brandon Smith on the football team wrestled 220 in HS.
Ironhead said Johnson is unlikely but not impossible for Rider, probably a go for the Scuffle.

Also said Cassar will enroll in the spring. Him going heavy may be severely optimistic, given he had shoulder surgery a couple months ago.

Smith has now been out of wrestling for 2 full years plus this summer/fall. If he were to come to Lorenzo this spring -- and there's no evidence he's considering this -- he'd be not much more than a body this spring. He was pretty good in HS, but Johnson was better and has 2 yrs less rust.

Johnson started practicing this week so don't be surprised if he goes against Rider.
So is Morelli ranked in the top 15 this week? In a blowout duel you wrestle.....in a big tournement, you run to win. It serves notice Morelli is a player.
Ironhead is great to listen to.

165 was a snooze fest up until the last 30 seconds.

I'm not taking anything away from Morelli. He did a nice job keeping position, but I believe Jordan would be a different wrestler if he wrestled for Cael. He would be pushing the pace long before the last 10 seconds.

Was the "last second literally" TD to win by 1 legit?

Replay showed .5 second on the clock.

And, it looked like the TD was complete at that point, when the ref made the call.

Didn't recall that they do tenths of a second at the end, but if so, then it was legit.

Cael and crew didn't contest it.

As Morelli came off the mat, Cael told him to not worry about it. He told Morrelli he wrestled well.
And he did.

FR, No, Nickal and Cutch both dominated, McIntosh cruised and Van Curra was surrendering 85+ pounds and lost something like 10-0.

One of the BTN2Go announcers had some difficulty today with some of the play-by-play calls. Two or three times during the match, he said they restarted due to stalling, instead of saying stalemate.

But the funniest comment of the day was during Morgan McIntosh's match, when that same announcer got a little flustered and referred to him as MorganTosh.

Not quite to the level of the "fist in the back" call, but it may have made a few viewers smile a bit with that slip of the tongue.

;)

'Stallmate' seems to be a popular new word among announcers.
