Question for the all knowing board...Achilles Tendon Injury

I hurt my Achilles Tendon playing basketball last Sunday. I have an appointment with an orthopedic doctor Wednesday. If you have had a partial or full tear, what were your symptoms? What was your post op experience? Thanks for your feedback!
