Radio/TV for tonights match??

Listen to Jeff Byers' supremely excellent if not entirely impartial call:
Watch:
  • BTN Plus Subscription
    https://www.btn2go.com/packages?type=0
(online only, you can subscribe to just Penn State content for less money $10/mo instead of $15/mo for all BTN Plus content):
  • FloWrestling Subscription
    http://www.flowrestling.org/
(Same stream, more money--$30/mo or $150/year--but MUCH more wrestling content: Southern Scuffle, Keystone Classic, lots of other open and freestyle tourneys at high school, college, and senior level),

I'm pretty sure Byers' radio call -- which is definitely all you need -- is always available through gopsusports.com

Plus if you have an apple device you can also listen on the PSU app, it links to gopsusports.com. There may be an android app, I am not sure.

Please review, regarding the new Flo coverage:

A) Will BTN Plus cover some PSU wrestling matches that Flo won't cover?

B) Will Flo cover some PSU wrestling matches that BTN Plus won't cover?

C) Is there any reason to get both?

I understand that Flo will have some tournaments that BTN Plus won't cover.

Any strategies folks want to offer, please offer away.

Thanks

My understanding is every BTN Plus match will be on flo, but anything on actual BTN cable channel will be on neither. Although if you get that cable channel at home, you can stream the broadcast on BTN (but not flo) Make sense?

So, basically interchangeable, but you pick up the other Flo content. Has it ever been definitively decided if Flo is using their own announcers or just following the BTN Plus (possibly student) feed?

Based on the sample size of Rutgers vs. Maryland, it's the Student U production simulcasted on Flo, but I suppose that could change.

So for strictly the PSU wrestling team events, if you want the Tournament coverages, get Flo for those months.

Keystone Classic - Get Flo for November

Southern Scuffle - Get Flo for January

The rest of the regular season matches that are televised are on the BTN or should be available through subscription on the BTN or BTN Plus? Is that correct?

The BT Championships should be on the BTN or BTN Plus.

The NCAA Championships would be on ESPN and its sister stations.

How does that look to board posters?
Any PSU video events that are missed with this plan?

Thanks

Is there a list of PSU matches that are NOT covered by video viewing via the web?

For example, since it is not in the BT, would Bucknell be Broadcast via video, or just Byers' great audio?

Just an update.

Iirc, if you get the BTN at home, you can access the BTN on mobile devices via the free BTN2Go App.

A glossary that may be helpful:
  1. BTN = The cable channel you can (or cannot) subscribe to from your cable provider
  2. BTN Plus (All Conference Pass $15/mo, School Pass--PSU content only $9/mo) = available to anyone, watch content not on BTN but available through subscription.
  3. BTN2go = The app for your device: Stream the cablecast content from BTN for free, provided you subscribe to the cable channel, and stream BTN Plus content, provided you pay for it.
If last year is any guide, BTN Plus will carry all B1G home duals not cablecast on BTN. Though I don't see Bucknell on the BTN Plus schedule right now, so maybe some of the non-conference ones won't be covered--might depend on student availability.

So the only thing missing are the tourneys (Keystone, Scuffle--on flo, NCAAs--on ESPN TV and App) and the non-conference away duals (Binghamton, Lehigh). I wouldn't be shocked if Binghamton doesn't have anything, but Lehigh typically does it's own streaming service--I think it might even be free.

The Bucknell Match will be streamed free on College Sports Live. Link from the wrestling schedule on GoPSUSports.
All I have been able to find for Binghamton is audio.

Thanks nerfstate. Understood most of that ahead of time, but specifics help to clarify coverage options, under the new situations.
Much appreciated.

You mentioned "the BTN Plus schedule."

Do you have a link that lays out that schedule?
Thanks again.

Is there a web page that lays out the currently known PSU Wrestling coverage for every match and tournament?

If it's not available in one spot, perhaps an "in-the-know" staffer at GoPSUSports can provide it, or maybe a NLWC link could provide it. (Or an interested Wrestling Room poster?) ;)

IIRC the Big championship finals is on Big10 cable. To get all the prelims you need Big 10+.

Everything else seemed correct

IMO other than finances there is no reason not to go FLO. So much content year round

I downloaded this app yesterday due to your suggestion. I clicked on wrestling and basically just saw a bunch of tweets? Where Would the link have been? I was going to try watching on my Apple TV while listening to the app but I didn’t see it.

Often, on the front page, they will have a link to listen live, if it isn’t there click on the three lines in the upper right, then gopsunow and there will be a link there to click and listen, archived stuff too. I wish they had it more intuitive.

FYI - Some good Army match photos taken by Mark Selders are on the PSU App.
