What a wonderful way for the California Kid to end his home career. A National Championship would be a story book ending ala Frank, Q, David, Ed, and Matt.
If he stays on his offense he will win Nationals. Must stay on his offense though. What a wonderful way for the California Kid to end his home career. A National Championship would be a story book ending ala Frank, Q, David, Ed, and Matt.
cox is the only kid he has to worry about if he is on his game throughout the tourney
And Minnesota's Brett Pfarr wrestled Morgan into SV at the Scuffle.I disagree...just for fun....I think Hartmann remains the real worry. His offense will beat Cox every time. Hartmann takes advantage of others aggressiveness and how Morgan lost to him last year. I want a good draw at NCAA that doesn't have Hartmann in his way, because even on his game....this is not a great matchup.
He might be the quietest badass to compete in a while. The thing that stands out to me was that he was pressed in to service as a true freshman as a true freshman which is daunting alone, add being a true 184 lber wrestling 197 and missing AA only because being hampered by injury. I believe his career he is currently just over 100 wins and 18 loses and 10 of those loses were as a true freshman! I have often wondered what his career stats would have looked like if he RSed his first year and wrestled most of his career at 184.
AND HE DID IT WITH A SMILE ON HIS FACE! What a great wrestler and teammate
I am anxious to see him wrestling at 86KG following graduation (bummer that DT, ED and MM are all at the same weight)
Morgan McIntosh on top of that is a well spoken, badass. His comments in his post match interview... were reflective of the classy, young man that he is. Like Jason Nolf... he reflected on how grateful he was to come across the country and wrestle for Penn State. Well... I can speak for many Penn State fans who are and were more grateful for the experiences he gave all Penn State fans. Morgan is one of my all time favorites... 1st as a human being... and then as a wrestler. He might be the quietest badass to compete in a while.
Agree with all the comments made about Morgan; a class act. Another thing I liked about Morgan was that he always spoke well of his opponents, no trash talk.Morgan McIntosh on top of that is a well spoken, badass. Listen to MM's comments post match: Morgan stated.. "I'm in a very special place..." And as fans, Morgan... I would insist... WE WERE.
Start at 6:11 of the interview. "I'm in a special place... on a special team." Wow...

That's the script burnsie that most likely will be written. MM has been much more explosive this year. He mentioned this is the healthiest he's been at this point in the season his entire career. I hope that pays off in another Big Ten Title which is highly likely and a National Championship. I'd have the exact same feeling as when Q defeated Dustin Kilgore at 197 and marveled at the athleticism Q showed against a much bigger guy that night. MM is that bigger guy with that rare extreme athleticism to match anyone on Saturday night at Nationals. Whomever it may be.I think MM's extra focus on his offense this year would overwhelm Hartmann. His recent performances are Zain-esque. To me, Cox remains the biggest threat. If MM takes care of business at B1G's, Cox should end up on the other side of the bracket at Nationals. Mac will likely have to deal with Hartmann, and the loser of Pfarr/Burak at B1G'S, in the national semis.
