Recruiting other team's commits

They do have a couple that im sure some some big10 teams are eyeing. I like that Cornell has bragging rights for being a ivy and doing as good as they do!

So I guess Yianni isn’t going to move to Cowboy RTC either if DT and the boys are trying to rustle Cornell commits
No shortage of high-end targets there either. Knox is the obvious draw, but they also have the Cortez brothers (from Cormier's club in Gilroy CA), and Vega all in 2025, and Toscano in 2026.

We'll know DT is targeting Cornell guys when Mrs. Grey issues a fatwa against him.

I am all for DT making the program 2nd best but not like that. I mean so a kid committed that doesn't mean you can't talk to him, but if it is as cut throat as what is being implied I don't like that either. I can see it being taken out of context very easily but every thing that is happening it is easy to ASSuME it's in a cut throat manner.

If we heard that kinda news about our staff what would we say, no way not Cael, but would it really be that out landish if it was. Man oh man I hope we don't end up in the news like that.

It's a thing. Some coaches respect it - but the best ones don't. Until you sign an NLI, it's not illegal.

Cael did not stop recruiting Feldman after he committed. And was coming after him hard.

I mean, at this point, you can be a rostered starter, or an AA, and people can come after you to transfer. So I think the horse is out of the barn here. Doesn't mean we have to like it, but if you pretend that's not reality, then you will fall behind.

Recruiting other teams' commits is not wrong. It happens in football and basketball throughout the entire recruiting process.

What is BS is recruiting other teams' wrestling rooms.

Rutgers wasn't standing outside Lorenzo recruiting Suriano. They did recruit him while he was a Penn State student-athlete.
Iowa recruited Teemer right out of the ASU room. Money bags Bob was offering Luke bags of cash not only after he had signed a NIL, but while he was taking summer classes at PSU.
There are no limitations on transfers, but teams should not be able to reach out to other teams' student-athletes until the student-athlete has entered the portal to explore his options.

Strange. I can’t imagine what position James Franklin was recruiting Yianni for.

That's very interesting considering Feldman did not have PSU among his top 6 schools, and he committed during Kerk's freshman year.

One of Feldman's HS coaches is a poster here, and never mentioned PSU recruiting Feldman after that top 6 school list was released.

Verbal commitments are a piece of fiction. It isn't binding to the athlete or the school. NLI is when recruiting should end.

Today with the transfer portal and taking rostered athletes is dirty but that is where we are. Watching CFB last weekend every time a guy made a play they talked about how he was doing that last season for another team.

Why would Koll do that? Such a dumb, immature move.
This is standard passive-aggressive wrestling coach whining. Ryan is the master at it. They say something confrontational on social media and then clumsily backtrack once they’re called out - especially once their hypocrisy is called out as it inevitably is (e.g. “we never poach wrestlers!” …. example of poaching given … “but that was different and before NIL”)

Koll’s backtracking here is the “I don’t really blame him” coda

Pt. 2 of Yianni’s post
That’s a coach , doing his job

Cornell could have sucked and was looking around , you wouldn’t know unless you kept asking

Psu football has flipped 2 kids in the past few wks and probably 2 -3 more high end targets in the next two months

Should James Franklin stop going after the number one TE target bc he “committed to Michigan” no , bc he is coming on a visit in November

I wish old timer wrestling folk would get with the times

I guess it’s everyone out Cael day
So long as PSU is beating the shit out of everyone year in and year out everyone involved with or rooting for every other program is gonna piss their pants whining about how everything PSU does is either cheating or unethical.

And as long as they’re doing so, they’ll never catch up.

This is what I mean just a commitment fair game, after signing the NLI not so.

But which is Yanni talking about?

Koll is right, why wouldn't you until you can't?

It's just one more thing that everybody else does but not as well as Cael.
