Despite other’s assertions that they don’t exist and it all evens out…..

Randy Day Asserts Conspiracy Link

…..and at least I…would disagree. I left the Orange Bowl thinking exactly the same thing. How it is possible that despite visual evidence, that the best DE in the country, didn’t get held even once? It’s hard enough to get to a QB but if the ref isn’t going to call it, they are actually helping the OL. It’s pretty easy to swallow a flag if you want to.

The ASU Texas targeting no call, noted in the article was so obvious it was absurd.

The NCAA needs to supply refs.

Do you think sometime soon there will be NCAA football & basketball referees without conference affiliation? I think the conferences could provide funds to the NCAA for the pay of officials.

Is that workable?

When you have it on tape for YEARS and have tape where a Ref within a couple yards was staring right at the infraction then just walks away multiple times. It's not a conspiracy it's an agenda. Or when a Ref walks back the spot 1-2 yards from the actual spot where the player went out of bounds which we infamously refer to as "The Crooked Walk" and that Ref was criminal in his actions against us for YEARS. It's not a damn conspiracy it's a fact of life.

Look at the NFL and how many calls or no-calls go for the Chiefs. All in an effort to show that gorgeous Northeastern PA gal.

The problem is that almost all fan bases concentrate on the iffy calls that goes against them - not the ones they get.

A perfect example was the OSU board - Eleven Warriors - during the 2024 OSU-Michigan game when their fans were SCREAMING that the refs were one sided in keeping Michigan in the game. Especially the holding that UM was getting away with on the OSU DL. Horseshit !! They beat your ass on the LOS - plain and simple. That OL holding BS is the most common theme with losing teams

Just because we are paranoid doesn’t mean they are not out to get us!

Until the NCAA comes out with video to show what is and is not a penalty the conspiracy theories are going to legitimately persist.

It's not just the holding of various types and the interference, but the playoffs this year showed that "targeting" has absolutely no consistency and is therefore a likely political weapon. I think it was the Texas ASU game in which an ASU player got bashed head on with the crown of a helmet. He went down looking like he got knocked unconscious. No call ... even after video "review" confirming the helmet to helmet crown contact. The only conclusion we could draw from that is that an official did not want to take a Texas player out for two critical halves during the playoffs.

"Letting them play" in big games is a corruption of the rules. It does the sport much more harm than good. It alienates fans. If this continues college football will decline into obscurity. It will be entertainment for a few teams with gobs of money. The rest will become disinterested. Who wants to watch corruption?

When MLB started scrutinizing their umpires ball/ strike calls, the officiating improved dramatically. I don't know how or if the officials are graded in the NCAA

The NCAA needs to supply refs.

And if they do, then people will just say that the NCAA is directing the officials to favor Team X or Team Y.

That's the age we live in, with nearly infinite information and communication ... all the crazy you can dream up can be spewed, and, no matter how crazy that crazy is, there will be another cuckoo bird thinking the same thing, or easily convinced to agree ... and it spreads.

Targeting hasn’t been a consistent call since day 1. This years playoffs were no different
