I'm just jumping around looking at how some of the "name" wrestlers did in today's regionals. Below are some of the results I saw. I'll try to update some of these later. If I don't get to them, I hope others will update the info.

enjoy

Stout wins by injury default. Match stopped in 1st period

Taeshan Campbell beats Austin Bell 1 to 0

Stout won the final by injury default.

Triston Law won SW AA Regional 6-3 over Jonathan Gabriel (Bedford). Very nice win in the final.

Some other bigger names ...

SW AA:
- 160: Jared Walker (South Fayette, state runner-up) lost 3-2 UTB in the final.
- 220: Buzzy Maines (West Branch, state runner-up) pinned Jake Robb (Kittanning) 5:11. Huge win, Robb is also top 3.
- 285: Allan Beattie (Burrell) 1st. Burrell will win states, just a matter of how dominant.

NE AA:
- 120: Brian Courtney (Athens) 1st, now 34-0.
- 132: Zack LeBarron (Warrior Run) 1st, now 36-0. Bonused thru regionals, will be a tough out for Myers, Phillippi, and Giorgio.
- 145: Kent Lane (state runner-up, Southern Columbia, Lehigh) 1st, now 40-1.
- 152: Billy Barnes (state runner-up, Southern Columbia, Bloomsburg) 1st, now 34-1.
- 160: Cole Walter (Mifflinburg, Lehigh) 1st with a pin and 2 TFs, now 37-1.
- 170: Gavin Hoffman (Montoursville FR) 2nd to Nick Stephani (Troy) for the 2nd weekend in a row.
- 182: Garrett Hoffman 1st, now 42-0.
- 220: Dylan Otis (Wyalusing, Army) 1st, now 46-1, only loss to Robb.
- 285 Saul Wilkins (WB GAR) 1st, may be the only threat to Beattie.

SW AAA:
- 113: Devin Brown 10-4 over Gage Curry. This could be the state final (depending on Dan Moran's bracket).
- 126: Ethan McCoy (Latrobe) 1st. He's dangerous at states with Solomon out.
- 170: Teshan Campbell (Penn Hills) over Bell 1-0. Campbell is now 32-0 with some good wins (Walker, Bell 2x). Bell had a feet-to-back takedown wiped out when action was stopped for blood.

Mifflin County H.S. winners

Interesting to see such success from the Mifflin County team, which includes my old H.S. Anybody know anything about the Hidlays or the 197-pounder Hartsock that they are willing to share? Hartsock is an familiar Lewistown name, but Hidlay is a new one on me.

Incidentally, Tom, next time I returned to this site, it was back the same as always. Perhaps I got caught up in a warp in the space-time continuum that time I found the strange configuration and had to re-register. There are just some things in this world that I can't explain. Too bad old m&b2 isn't around anymore to explain them to me.

Big shock in SE AA 126: state champ Korbin Myers (Boiling Springs, Edinboro) creamed state runner-up Josh Giorgio (Schuylkill Valley, Air Force) MD 17-6. Win not surprising, destruction was. Big statement win heading into a really loaded Hershey weight (Myers, Phillippi, Giorgio, LeBarron).

State champ Jake Riegel (Beca) lost in the NE AAA 120 quarters but came back to take 3rd.

And Jimmy Saylor gets to remain Willie's cousin for another week, after winning NE AAA 145.

We've mostly mentioned the bigger names or possible champs. I'd like to also highlight a few uncommitted SRs who might be good last-minute pick-ups:
- Riley Barth, CB West 145. SE AAA 1st, 34-0.
- Teshan Campbell, Penn Hills 170, SW AAA 1st, 32-0.
- Matt Mirth, Southern Lehigh 170. NE AAA 1st, 29-0.
- Nick Stephani, Troy 170. NE AA 1st, 37-0.
- Joshua Yeboah-Gyasi, Upper Darby 220. SE AAA 2nd, 29-2 with both losses to Jordan Wood.
- Buzzy Maines, West Branch 220, SW AA 1st and favorite to win states.
- Allan Beattie, Burrell 285, SW AA 1st and favorite to win states.

Other results of note:

SE AA:
- 106: Kevan Gentile (Jim Thorpe) decked a good opponent in the finals. Now 37-0, could be a test for Teasdale.
- 138: State runner-up Kyle Shoop (Boiling Springs, Lock Haven) 1st, now 41-1.
- 152: Mike Comunale (Pius X, Drexel) 1st, now 31-0, headed for a showdown at Hershey with Billy Barnes.

NW AA:
- 195: Dylan Reynolds (Saegertown, Clarion) 1st, now 46-0.

NE AAA:
- 113: State runner-up Dan Moran (Northampton) lost in the finals to KJ Fenstermacher (Beth Liberty) 8-5.
- 120: FR Sammy Sasso (Nazareth) 1st with 3 techs.
- 126: State champ Luke Karam (Beca) 1st.
- 132: Evan Fidelibus (Easton) 1st.
- 138: Stephen Maloney (Beca) 1st.
- 152: Mike Labriola (Beca) lost in the finals 7-6 to Kazim Bakhriyev (Scranton). Labriola beat Maruca earlier this year.
- 160: Cody Cordes (Wyoming Valley West, Lock Haven) decked Adam Soldridge (Beca) in the finals.
- 182: John Jakobsen (Stroudsburg JR, Lehigh) 1st, now 34-1 with his only loss in OT to Chris Dietrich. Jakobsen is a legit threat to Kellan Stout at Hershey.

SE AAA:
- 120: Derek Gulotta (OJ Roberts, Lock Haven) 1st over Ryan Hayes (Spring Ford, Bloomsburg).
- 170: Kyle Gentile (Pennridge) 1st. He could make some noise at states.

NW AAA:
- 132: DJ Fehlman (Warren, Lock Haven) 5-1 OT over Brock Port (Bellefonte SO).
- 170: DJ Hollingshead (Altoona, Bucknell) blasted the field with 2 pins and a MD in the finals. His last-minute decision to bump up from 160 (avoiding Shields) will likely pay off in a weak weight at Hershey.

Incredible job Jefe with a deep look at all the talent. Too bad Sasso is at 120, kid is really coming on, but that's the wrong weight with Lee. Sasso wrestled up much of the year to challenge Karam at 126 and Fidelibus even at 132. Sasso wrestled them tough, Ssmmy just a Frosh as well. Not sure anybody beats Sammy at 120, not named Lee.

Thanks, now just waiting to see which weights the PIAA screws up how badly this year with those stupid pre-drawn brackets.

quick question

When will the PIAA brackets and BIGs brackets be officially released? BIGs pre seeds Monday?
