Robbie Howard Verbals To the Good Guys!

You chose Omaha as your lean on? The good part of Omaha resides in Iowa and in the expensive steak industry MR... Everyone knows that! Have you ever driven through Nebraska from Omaha to Colorado? Yikes..

Iowa's bowl game is on Jan 1st at 11am on Espn 2. To view Nebraska's game this year you change your channel to 3 and get out the 1995 VHS. Make sure it is rewound.
what did you buy in colorado?

you know what you should do, Turk...

because you're pissed off about robbie howard, you should go on BWI and make homophobic slurs about me and regular posters.

i mean, that's normal.
I poked a little fun at the all dude hot tub party posted on BWI a year or two ago. I apologize if that offended anyone. Myself, I always enjoyed having a higher ratio of bikini clad girls to men in my jacuzzi dayz. To each there own.

I promise I'm not homophobic Smalls. Not that it matters to me if you know.

According to Robbie, who just completed a top notch recruiting tour...we have "the best coaches"

Pretty sure he didnt say we had the best recruitors or recruiting plan or recruiting trip. But I do know he said we had the "best coaches"

And the G.O.A.T :D

shhhhhhhhh

There is another side story to Howard's commitment that I have not seen addressed:

Apparently the former Suriano defection (Bergen Catholic Legendary HS wrestler) had ZERO effect on Howard (Current Bergen Catholic HS wrestling legend in the making).

Obviously Howard had the intellect and confidence to make his own decision without being negatively affected.

Nice! Not sure what else was out there in his weight/class range, but seemed like there was quite the dropoff after Howard. Fills a need.

I take Turk as joking around, maybe a little bitter about the announcement but who from Iowa wouldn't be, and he's being a wise ass. No biggie. He's a decent dude, IMO.

@WildTurk
You do seem a little cranky. Here ya go:

Damn, if Cael keeps recruiting like this how will he ever prove he can coach?

The HR narrative could live on for years and years. :D

Seriously though, we should be more sympathetic toward our HR friends. Now that the season has started reality is setting in ... once again it's wait till next year. Now they're hearing that Cassar and Shak might be back for 2020 ... is there no end in sight?.

No wonder Turk is a bit salty today.;)

a significant portion of Iowa's passionate fan base claimed PSU's success was because i steered recruits to to Penn State.

as hilariously stupid as that is, yes, i will tell generations of my family about it. very proud.

A significant portion of HR? Or a significant portion of Iowa’s fanbase? A significant portion of Iowa’s fanbase doesn’t even know HR exists.

Where do you fall on if that is a good thing or a bad thing?

I’d say it’s a good and a bad thing but that HR isn’t necessarily a real representation of the fanbase in general. Among my wrestling friends, I’m the only geek that reads the boards.

Still say Psu_rings is not the real spyker.
It's a different account, but the content itself is indistinguishable so I think it is. I mean, if you're going to parody someone, take it up a notch or put some spin on it. Or be funnier.

And it's not as if original Spyker was 'real' in the sense that he was really attending practices or palling around with other wrestlers' fathers, so for all intents and purposes, the new one might as well be the same.

Spyker is actually a sentient AI experiment gone awry. We don't know it yet, but soon we will all be under his control.

Howard had the intellect to know that he could be as he stated... winner of as many National Championships (at Penn State) as possible . Nick Suriano thought it best... not to be a National Champ while at Penn State, went to Rutgers to be schooled by Spencer Lee without getting better and has no intellect.

Didn’t get better? Same bonus percentage as a sophomore as a freshman, except more pins and techs. So average points scored was higher.

It’s okay to be a hater. Don’t make stuff up tho.

Seriously, do you think that another legendary wrestler from the same high school a few years apart would have gone to Penn State if they thought that Suriano was treated badly at PSU?

What points were you looking to make with your aimless statements that have nothing to do with this snooze fest. I think Cael and Company could have given NS a fighting chance. At Rutgers, obviously he NO chance. Nick Suriano will never sniff an NC while at Rutgers. As in never. I think Nick's dejection might have told you he had no chance and no one believes in Nick Suriano more than... Nick Suriano. Nick knew he had no chance of scoring on Spencer Lee and he might have no chance on scoring on Seth Gross if he makes it that far at Nationals. Most likely can't beat Stevan Micic in the semi's.

Note to self... look at the example of Vincenzo Joseph to see what it's like to go in as a heavy underdog in the NC finals and come out on top twice in a Penn State singlet in a NC final most wrestling fans would have bet their house and all they own that Vincenzo wasn't beating IMAR or beating him in back to back finals or pinning him in the finals.

Thanks for stating the obvious... that a NC caliber wrestler gets better from his freshman to sophomore year. How does he wrestle on the biggest stage??? That's what he's known for. Not for your obvious dribble.

Malone is one of the good guys, doesn’t much matter if Suri was killing inferior talent, did he add any offense or expand his attacks vs the elite? I thought he returned to being more of a defensive wrestler in March, he’d rather stay in solid position than improve to get those takedowns at NCAAs. That won’t win at 133 this year, he’ll need more than winning 4-3 style or he’ll lose before finals, 133 way deeper than 125 last year

Almost same assessment above as your own... Jschrantz.

Exactly, we both realize trying to turn a match into a street fight won’t be enough this year at 133. I won’t insult this board by listing all the challengers at 133 this year, but lots of kids that can scramble and aren’t scared to create, Will Suri adapt? Not so sure, he’d rather not it seems to me at times. His style is highly effective and he’s great, will it ever win a title? I don’t think so

Can we stop with the derogatory comments about the decisions of very young men. Why must you say that anyone who doesn't choose or stay at PSU is stupid and/or a loser.....and those that do chose PSU are smarter and want to be winners. Please do better

48 yrs old, 18 yr happy marriage, 2 healthy thriving kids, succesful business..I'm doing fine..go sulk back in the cornfield you came from. If I want to say congrats or welcome on twitter, go F yourself

Someone said he didn’t get better. Numbers say otherwise. That was the point.

^^^ still doesn't get it

Hey Willie. Someone must have really gotten under your skin on this one. This is probably the most prolific I have seen you, especially considering the whole back and forth is tangential to the topic.

As a really smart seasoned guy once told me when I went off the rails "watch more, write less"! ;-)

He didn't come close to scoring an offensive point in the finals. Got better at what???

So you are basing his year-long progress on the NCAA finals? He suffered a serious knee infection....missed the end of the season......forfeited out of the Big 10 tournament and was not close to 100% at NCAA's. How much are you willing to ignore? By your rubric......since Nolf only won his final by decision......he seriously regressed last year. To quote Spock...…".It is not Logical"
