Robert Kraft charged with Soliciting Prostitution

So raise your hand if you want to see an 80 year old Robert Kraft get a happy ending. Who is the pervert that is opening that video and watching it.
Seems likely that the surveillance video is low quality, low res, grainy, etc. and will barely prove that it is him, taken by itself.

If he were not lying about it, then the video would be of little value to anyone. His arrogant lies make it valuable. It is probably gonna be released whether he goes to trial or not.

Statement from a spokesperson for Patriots owner Robert Kraft: “We categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity. Because it is a judicial matter, we will not be commenting further.”

Just curious as to why you think it would be of low quality, particularly with technology these days. Admittedly, I know little about this sort of thing.

Oh, you can bet they're out there.
You mean surveillance videos of prostituted ex acts?

But, I repeat my question: has anyone ever actually seen or even heard of such a thing being released to the public?

Until the trial, keep it under wraps! Why give an attorney “tainting the jury pool” as an out?

I think politicians, DAs, commanding officers, etc should just keep mouth shut when asked about charged people and let process play out.

Ideally, but remember the DA, police, etc. are in it for the publicity as much as anyone. Since they apparently don't have a sex trafficking bust on which to hang their collective hats they'll have to milk this for all it's worth.

No, I was referring to those that would love to view it. And it's the media who can't wait to get their hands on it, which tells you something about where we are with journalism/reporting these days.

Well if it is low quality or not, I will not be opening it regardless. So you let me know how it is after you get done seeing it and cleaning yourself up.

The best part is you dont have to look at it. Somebody will, or has, and they will verify it is him, he is getting a handy, and that therefore he is a liar.

Dem, did he ever say he didn't get one or whatever? Maybe his argument that he didn't do anything illegal is that he didn't offer money directly in exchange for a sexual act, therefore no solicitation? I'll defer to the attorney on the board here.

Interesting.

Hand jobs aren't illegal. And you’re calling him a liar because he got one and pled (and continues to plead) not guilty.

Do I think he solicited and paid for sex? Absolutely. But it misses the mark to call him a liar because he’s making the only statement he could possibly make to defend himself. He has a right to defend himself and play the system just like everyone else. Exercising that right and pleading not guilty is not lying. He’s not denying the facts. He’s contesting the conclusion. It’s for the court, not the accused, to determine the facts and declare him guilty of engaging in criminal activity.

Why did he make such a big public apology then? That's the part I don't get.

probably. saying he paid for the massage. she just gave him a happy ending because she liked him, but the payment was for the massage only.

Because he knows he didn’t live up to the expectations of someone in his station. He broke the law in a very public and embarrassing way. The issue here is calling him a liar when his only option to defend himself from the whims of a prosecutor is to say he didn’t.

Whims of a prosecutor? LOL

His only option is to lie about his conduct. Along with apologizing. Huh.

How does one plead not guilty without denying he engaged in illegal activity? Despite the procedural move he owned his error publicly.

And how does one lie without intent to deceive? He’s not apologizing AND expecting the world to believe he didn’t break the law.

Ah, rhetorical questions are annoying. Sorry.

How’s this? You’ve convinced me you’re correct. So I’ll now exit this fruitless discussion. I admit I did not speak the truth and yet I didn’t lie since I expect you’re too smart to believe me. Instead, I just said what would politely end this fruitless discussion and I owned my error. Moving on.

The guy paid for a massage. It's not his fault that she failed to color inside the lines. Happy endings are what happens when there is a whole-body massage.

You can plead not guilty while saying not a single thing about categorically denying anything. Sorry if that is too difficult.

Exactly! It’s like all that legit online news footage of a guy watching football in his mom’s basement ordering a pizza and a smoking hot nympho pizza delivery girl shows up, peels off her trench coat leaving nothing behind and jumps him at the door. Then vanishes with the pizza after he pays! As I understand it, these occurrences don’t happen as often in PA as they do in warmer weather environments. But the innocence is undeniable.

Yes, I'm sure Kraft was a victim, just like that. Sheesh. He got a surprise hand-job.

The justice system is rigged against old, white, male billionaires.
Certainly not, but some here are showing their own prejudice against those types. I consider myself to be left of center, but I'll be the first to admit that we too have our fair share of hypocrites.

I hate it when that happens.

Yes it was a surprise. If a rich guy has a choice between simple massage at home, a lovely hotel spa, or a strip mall massage joint, they always chose the latter.

Pays to have excellent attorneys:

A Florida judge ruled today that the video of Patriots’ owner Robert Kraft from inside a spa cannot be used because it was obtained illegally. A win for Kraft.

Okay it can’t be used. But doesn’t that ruling confirm that it does exist and shows what the prosecution alleges it shows? Otherwise there wouldn’t be a fight to keep it out of court.

Think of it like a tree falling in a forest when no one is around.

I'll defer to the board attorneys, but I would think this means it can't be used in court, which I would guess severely damages the case against Kraft and anyone else who didn't plead out. To my way of thinking this was pretty reckless on the part of law enforcement, and it can' help that, unless something has changed, they don't have the evidence to support trafficking.

Kraft didn't do anything wrong. That's why his lawyers wanted to suppress video of him doing nothing wrong.
Iirc the video doesn’t have audio so what use is it either way. Without audio how does one solicit prostitution?? Hand signals??

Was it a pepperoni pizza?

Perhaps an exchange of money before "the act"? Not sure, but in any case this has the markings of grandstanding by law enforcement. Seems to have backfired, and regardless of what anyone thinks of Kraft, this is a constitutional win.

I agree completely. It’s very good news when it comes to his trial...if that ever happens. But it’s a double edged sword. It’s good legally but, IMO, it looks terrible from a PR standpoint: Judge confirms a video exists of Kraft but it can’t be used because police screwed up. I guess Kraft can claim that the video didn’t show anything anyway (because he didn’t do anything) but if that’s the case why object to it being used in court?
