Unfortunately, Branch is re-loading. Gonna be tough in 18-19 and forward. Lee and Warner are spectacular. Teasdale almost with them. Damn those PA kids. Hope they don't get Sasso.
Side note on Sasso: I attended the Nazareth vs Easton dual the other night and spotted Tom Ryan, Bucks are a big player for Sasso. There were a few other studs wrestling, but Folks there more in the know than myself were talking a lot about Sammy and the link to Columbus, OH.
Wake me up when Brands start developing elite mid & upper weighs.
Many of their kids have stagnated or even slid slightly backwards.
Mike Evans is definitely not impressed.
My opinion is that they still have a model that can win it all.
I think the Lee signing is huge for them, changes the dynamic. They've been missing that elite blue-chip guy. Now they've got him, along with a ton of other Young Guns kids and really good kids elsewhere.

With closer observation, I will debate that Lee doesn't change the dynamic that much for Iowa.
Iowa has always had nationally elite 125 & 133 since PSU has made their charge several years ago.
Lee/Teasdale isn't much different NCAA points-wise than McDonough/Ramos or Gilman/Clark. Just a few points difference.
If Iowa wants to compete with PSU & others for the team title, they need to make hay in the other 8 weights, where they have been scoring significantly behind other elite programs.
Iowa will definitely have firepower, but they need the others 8 weights to "catch up".

Good observation. Lee's star power helps perceptions which helps recruiting, though.
To follow up - I'm not discounting Spencer Lee.

I'm just debating that in the NCAA points formula across 10 weight classes, Iowa was already elite at 125 & 133 while PSU & tOSU were winning 6 straight NCs (soon to be 7 & 8) and Iowa was not.

What about Iowa this year? Seems like they have to have a lot of things go right but definitely do-able. I'm no bracketology mathmetician but....
Let's say Gilman and Clark both win it all. Carton low AA's. You could run a cruise liner between the gulf at #1 and the field at 49 and 57. But what if Sorenson and Kemmerer both make the finals. What if the Mullet at 84 and Stoll mid to high AA. Maybe the kid at 74 has a good tournament. 2 champs, 4 finalists, 6 or 7 AAs total.
Thinking this through. Zain and Nolf cancel out Gilman and Clark and then some. Suriano, Nickal, Nevils, Cenzo, Cutch, 174. Sheesh we have a lot of firepower.
I guess if a lot goes right for Iowa and some things go wrong for us and the OSUs.

I wouldn't count on a certain 2018 recruit ending up in Iowa City. Will leave it at that.

I don't know, but I just checked this guy's twitter now and it's changed to be very generic - a type of change that caused a ruckus a week or so ago.
I had the vibe way before, but something is up. A disclaimer - I'm way down in Austin and don't know eff all about rumors, but I always try to heed a warning from one of our football posters who had this tag line in his messages for a long time "pay no attention to what a recruit says; pay attention to what he does"
It probably makes me a stalker but I was thinking the other day how long it would take until the HR saw that and went nuts. here it wasnt the HR, it was our very own super sleuths to bring it out.

LOL signed sealed delivered. The 2017er is gone. The 2018er isn't necessarily gone and whether wearing black and gold or blue and white, he is going to be very good. The only question is fit. Rumor has it he could go anywhere from 125 to 184.

1 - GT has been "liking" posts from Zain, Nolf, Nico, Gable Stevenson & Spencer Lee - but hasn't liked anything regarding any current Hawkeyes.
2 - GT again removed any & all mention of the Hawkeyes.
Things that make you go "huh".
