Saturday night's ice hockey game vs. Wisconsin @ Pegula 8:00 PM

sure hope attendance is better than the last two weekend series. games are sellouts, but there seem to be many no-shows

Just got tickets for Saturday's game. Tickets are very reasonable for both Friday and Saturday.

What is American Sports Network?

A sports network that typically signs deals with a lot of mid-major conferences. Hockey is the only sport that I'm aware of where ASN has Big Five conference coverage. They have done Penn State games in the past. When they broadcast a game, they will typically cut a deal with a local station to pick up their feed, in this case its WJAC.

If you look at the coverage for the next few days, you get a sense of what they offer. Tomorrow they have 4 Atlantic 10 women's basketball tournament games,

Saturday is 2 men's A10 basketball games, 1 Conference USA basketball game, 1 WAC basketball game, and our hockey game.

Sunday they have the women's championship game from the Hockey East Conference.

Tuesday they have a Big South baseball game.

You get the idea.

The more the merrier. They wouldn't do it if they weren't making money, which means they have SOME amount of viewers. WJAC will have no trouble clearing the ad time.

Thank you. The Gophers have PSU's number.

In a way. I think that either of the last two games could have been won by PSU. Last Friday, PSU made some critical errors and faded down the stretch. Saturday? we were very lucky to escape with a victory. Not as bad of a match-up as some would think.

The one thing PSU will need to avoid is getting sloppy with the puck and giving Wisconsin odd man rush opportunities. I think PSU matches up very well with Wisconsin.

I'll break my 7 word limit here. Minnesota is a well drilled talented offensive team. Ever since PSU has been in the Big Ten they've not been able to prevent Minny's top guns from scoring from the high slot. I don't know how many key goals they've roofed from there against PSU, but the image really stands out in my mind. Case in point - how in the heck do you not take the body on Kloos in that situation? Tackle him if you have to. You just cannot allow him to get to that spot. He and the other Minny guys have obviously practiced shooting from that area over and over. The second Minnesota goal of the 4-3 OT game by Sheehy was from the same area. They just bury those.

They got sloppy and twice paid the price.

The lapses have been unfortunate and costly.

I was only able to see the 3rd period last night on BTN+ but thought the game was pretty much another show of how PSU has struggled against teams that can play them physical and boat race them in transition. Wisconsin must have watched a lot of OSU tape from their trip to Pegula in January because it was not the same Wisconsin team PSU played 3 weeks ago in Madison where they played relatively soft and pretty easily outworked.

Would love to think PSU can pull this one out tonight and set the stage for a tournament bid but I've been really disappointed in how they've been collapsing at home since the holiday break. Players need to have short memory though and realize everything they want to accomplish is right there in front of them.

Agree. Our team $hit the bed yesterday at the Yost. Michigan overcame the first period an out played us from there. We can always hope our teams will rebound.

Special moment tonight when Gadowsky puts the five seniors on the ice for the final shift with under a minute to go - and they score a goal!

Nice 6-0 win over Wisky which should all but seal up an NCAA bid.

Now, coming off a loss Friday and seeing the possibility of slipping farther towards the NCAA bubble again, instead Penn State turned it around and moved up to No. 9, and at this point has all but locked up an NCAA spot. The Lions' chances are about 98 percent according to CHN's Pairwise Probability Matrix.

Awesome. Not only a great moment for the seniors, but a team/ potential program building moment. Hopefully PSU will lock that NCAA bid.

Thanks for sharing the link!
