Now that it's on Twitter I'm assuming I will get told this should have been on the tweeter feed...

Don't hold your breath.

Willie has stated repeatedly that WNO = #1 vs. #2.

Saunders is #2 at 138 in the post-Fargo rankings (behind Bartlett) -- that works.

Echemendia is not ranked in the top 20 anywhere from 132-152.

It would still be a good match. I see AE climing the ranks now that he's known.

most matchups are 1vs2, yes, but they've had non 1vs2 matchups in the past. i see a 1vs4 last year and a 1vs5 in 2017. i agree nothing like 1vsUnranked.

that said, i'm not sure if eschemendia is going to go to high school next year so maybe that's why he's not in the high school rankings? willie doesn't mention why he's unranked.

eschemendia beat the guy currently ranked #1 at 145 in the fargo finals so if he is going to high school there could be a case for him at #1, and if he beats saunders that would solidify it. the fact that saunders didn't just go 'man do you even go to high school?' makes me think eschemendia might be HS eligible, but i might just be talking out of my butt.

I thought I heard them say during the broadcast that he was a senior last year. Willie has also mentioned that Echemendia will be training at Penn St. next year participating in the WCAP program.

Anthony called me last night and he talked for a good 15 minutes, not sure how he got my number and I couldnt understand a damn thing he said, but I did hear “Willie” and “ moron” but not in the same sentence.

Anthony is not in High School anymore so won't be in the FLO rankings. Should be a great match. Looking forward to WNO.....some great matchups already.

It was not Willie's strongest interview for sure. A lot of leading the witness form my POV. I am still a Smalls supporter but I came away from that one wanting.

Did he actually say "training at PSU"? I heard he was rumored to be 'connected' to NC State and PSU but would be entering the WCAP program. Pardon my ignorance but where is the WCAP for wrestling located , Colorado?

I didn't go back and listen but I'm pretty positive he said on FRL that he would be training freestyle at Penn St.

The U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) is a military unit whose primary mission is to support nationally and internationally ranked soldiers in participating on the U.S. Olympic team. The program is headquartered at Fort Carson, Colorado.

"In 2014, the Club’s Regional Training Center received a tremendous boost when the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program (WCAP) decided to move their freestyle wrestlers to the State College area to train with the NLWC Resident Athletes.Their coaching staff liked the NLWC Regional Training Center coaching staff and how the Club’s Resident Athletes trained, and they liked the results that they were obtaining. Thus, they made the decision to move the U.S. Army WCAP wrestlers to State College, PA.These athletes are entirely funded by the U.S. Army, but they train under the direction of the NLWC coaching staff."

The WCAP program is phenomenal, and their athlete's, all sports, get my respect. Fyi...none of those athlete's are training at the NLWC anymore.

Imagine how good Anthony would get by practicing with Zain, Jason and company
