Who's on the seeding committee and is there any kind of transparency? I know the football committee and basketball as well, have to at least explain their picks/seeds.

That Nolf - Kemmerer quarters matchup was the most absurd seeding I've ever seen. Kemmerer loses one match and drops to 6? Lavalee over Nolf? GTFOutta here. Ridiculous. Embarrassing.

And to be clear, I think we're going to pull this out, but lets be real, the seedings seem to have been designed to give the "home" team the best chance.

Well Tom Ryan and Brian Smith were both on it.. so that is your answer right there.

I was aware of Ryan, but not Smith. That seems so hard to believe that they would be allowed to influence the seeding. But I don't know how else you would explain those brackets. If that's truly the case, then some other coaches and ADs need to get on the ****ing ball. Ridiculous.

Also the AD from American University was on it, and they received an almost unprecedented 4 at large bids (the same committee handles at large bids).

Supposedly they are to be out of the room when their guys are being discussed, but come on...Is it coincidence that American gets 4 at large bids and Ohio State and Missouri get seeds and draws they didn't earn or deserve?

Exactly. Sounds to me like a quid pro quo action.

Haven't you been paying attention? There is NO COLLUSION !!

This entire thread sounds like Tan Tom, only whiny.

Not how we would have handled it.

The NCAA is a business. It has an incentive to create intrigue -- ie, design a tournament that doesn't favor the dynastic team. The possibility of a new/different champion, or at least a tougher path to victory for the favorite, increases buzz and sells tickets. I have no problem believing the seeding committee is influenced by this motive. It reminds me of the Tour de France. They keep changing the configuration of that grand tour in an obvious effort to obstruct the path to victory for the dominant team (Sky) and their 4-time champ (Froome). Yet, the same champs keep finding a way to win. Knowing that these kinds of shenanigans are at play with the NCAA seeding will make a PSU victory all the sweeter this year.
