Shorter

Hoping it was just protocol and he is okay. CJF mentioned after the game that several players were hurt and he expected them to be back. Having Shorter at full strength and Clifford building confidence to add him to the mix, will only make the entire passing game better. I believe there should have been more ejections of Maryland players than there were in this game! For some reason, they play like they are willfully aiming to harm when they play PSU..... The Terp staff needs to snuff this culture, it is the opposite of a winning culture.

Thought the MD players played really dirty, including instigating the pregame scuffle. How did Sutherland get called for a PF on that punt return? That was a really bad call.

That type of culture usually comes from the coaching staff especially against certain teams (see Pitt when they play PSU).

I don't see many Maryland games and wonder if they use their punk routine against other teams or if it's reserved for Penn State. They seem to love running their mouths before and during the game. Maybe it was worse last night since they felt they had a great chance to win. Fortunately being down 38-0 at halftime tends to put an end to that sort of thing.

Last night, it was obvious that Hamler and Dotson are Clifford's two favorite receivers to go to. They run their routes well, they are quick, and they get separation from the defenders. After awhile, I started focusing on Justin Shorter to understand what he was doing in the game plan. Here is what I noticed...On EVERY play, Shorter dances/tries to jook out the defender at the line of scrimmage and he was rarely, if ever, successful in doing that. Due to that, he was slow to get off the line and get separation from his defender. I don't know if this is the gameplan that Shorter is being asked to do, or if Shorter is getting bad coaching, but it makes sense why Shorter is often times MIA in the offensive pass game.

Watching the replay of the game, I could have sworn I saw Shorter late in the game on punt coverage? It was #6 so it could have been Brown, but whoever it was wasn’t wearing his jersey the way Brown does with his midriff showing. I didn’t see another # 6 on the roster.

It was ratcheted up against us but yes they do the same thing to other teams. They are especially arrogant when beating Howard.
