Barely beating out Baker Mayfield

Overrated. Doesn't like contact. Hates to run inside. Couldn't even start for Rutgers.

He can’t run between the tackles.
Runs smaller than his size and strength.
Doesn’t show up in the big games.
He’s a RB from Penn State so he will be a bust.

Is this the real rookie of the year award? If so congrats to Saquan

Nope, this is the fan voted award. He also won the Players and Coaches voted Rookie of the Year (Sporting News OROY) and Mayfield won the AP Press Voted Rookie of the Year. Just another reason to absolutely despise the communist press and their propaganda machine. Real OROY comes next week.

Thrre’s a leap. Your guy doesn’t get writers’ vote so they can’t be trusted. As if Mayfield didn’t have a great year. If the reporting isn’t what you want to hear dismiss it and burn down the house?Dumbass.

We will never forget the night we walked out of Cottingham Stadium in Easton. Easton won the game. They were the better team. But what was galling was hearing how overrated Saquon was. He scored 5 touchdowns. A 90 yard kickoff return, 71 yard punt return, an 81 yard run, a 32 yard run, and 17 yard pass reception. Oh yeah, he played every down, both ways.
It has been going on a long time. Even now, the consensus around here is Austin Scott was better. What can ya do?

Yes, because Mayfield is a Communist:rolleyes:

I hate the press as much as anyone. And...I think you've come out of the gate a little hard on the poster.

Having said that, Mayfield had a great year and I would not have been surprised if he had won this award. Plus, he was on a team that has been historically bad. Finally, QB's aways have the inside track on every award. I think, of the 52 Super Bowl MVP's, 30 have been QBs.

Sorry I upset you so much. Communist is probably wrong, I think Fascist is the better word. I'm sorry this post doesn't "fit your narrative". Seriously can't understand how Penn State fans can also be main stream media fans. So you're the victim of false narratives and a fan? How do you rectify the two?

My guy is Saquon A&L. I'm referring to the press voting for Baker. Unlike the Heisman and most of the post season awards OROY is actually not a QB inside track award. It favors RBs because RBs can be productive from their very first game and QB's usually take a year or two. I was referring to the Press voting for Baker when the award clearly should recognize the Offensive player with the best season in comparison to his peers regardless of position. That player is Saquon Barkley

This probably depends on how you view awards like this. Saquon was the best rookie, but Baker was the most valuable: what he is doing to transform the Brown's is amazing. Barkley, meanwhile, may be the most exciting player since Walter Payton, Giants just need to build around him. As far as the press goes, the phrase "learn to code" comes to mind ;)

The Browns could have had both of them, if they had taken SB with the first pick. The Giants weren't going to take a QB and the Jets were set on taking Darnold if he was there - which he would have been in that scenario.

Well, Mayfield has a TON of good talent around him via many years of early drafts. And he didn't play that well until the HC was fired. Having said that, he had a rookie year that was better than just about any QB since Marino. Barkley, on the other hand, is more athletically gift than any player I've seen in a long, long time. IMHO, next season, he'll be in a class by himself at RB. So I wouldn't argue for or against either player winning the award. They both are deserving.

Totally agree. But the Browns got Chubb in the third round who just missed the pro bowl and a CB who will be all-pro for several years (Ward). Hard to say that they made a mistake.
