I don't follow the NHL but geez man. You posted about a topic which had absolutely nothing to do with the Flyers but then you twisted it to take a shot at Flyers fans? That tells me which is the more insecure fan base.
I can't name one player on the Flyers roster but I'm sure many of them are involved in heart warming stories as well.

Hell, they give up drinking beer every time Sidney comes to town. For some strange reason, they swear off drinking beer and proceed to throw $8 - $10 beer at him every time before, during, and after a game.
The Christian Temperance movement is alive and well all during the game!
No Flyers fan will deny Crosby's talent, nor his integrity as a human being.

Truth is none of us know how any of the flyers would react if they won the cup, and we never will... because it's never going to happen.

I'm very confused why any Flyers fan think Pens fans are insecure just because they mock them. The Pens have won 5 Cups in 30 years, there is zero insecurity, it's just fun to make fun of Flyers fans.

I let Flyers fans alone now, even buddies. Don't poke a sleeping bear. They know their place. The Penguins will be even better in the coming year.

It's not pathetic. It's a sports fan being a sports fan. It happens in Pittsburgh, New York, LA, Dallas, even Philly.
I think you might want to look up the meaning of the word insecure. Franchises with 5 Stanley Cups in 26 years don't have insecure fan bases. That he happens to think that the way a many Flyers fans treat Crosby is ridiculous is not a product of insecurity, but rather wholly justified anger. What is really ironic is that one could make a very good argument that the way many Flyers fans treat Crosby and the Penguins, and behave in general (i.e. constant insults, boasts and boorish behavior) IS a product of insecurity. Flyers fans under 40 or so haven't experienced their team winning a Stanley Cup in their lifetimes. THAT tends to cause insecurity.
You don't know what you are talking about. You said Crosby still cries if he doesn't get calls. What myself, and others, are saying is he doesn't whine like he did during his first few seasons. However, people who hate him or are jealous will still fall back on it or they don't watch Pens games and don't know what they are talking about.
Because they are so delusional and full of themselves. They think anything related to Philly is wonderful and the rest of the world is jealous. Hence the reason it's great to poke fun.
1. Team captains, including yours, are supposed to be the members of the team interacting with the officials and advocating for their team. 2. Crosby takes a beating, probably more than any other player in the NHL. He would be have to be Jesus not to voice his displeasure from time to time. 3. If he was truly a "crybaby" than he would not have won or been nominated by his peers for the "players player" award on numerous occasions. 4. No, we don't expect rose petals, but a modicum of respect and basic human decency would be nice. 5. The Penguins organization and its fans, organist, etc., don't make a regular habit of orchestrating "Giroux sucks" cheers every time they play the Flyers. 6. The Penguins organization is known, and resents by some, for success (aka results). The Flyers organization and its fan base are known, and hated by some, for boorishness, goonery and false bravado.
