Since Rutgers Beat Penn State

I had a run in with a Rutgers fan in New Jersey. He noticed my PSU shirt and came up to me in a restaurant and said "he was surprised that people outside of Pennsylvania supported that pedophile institution". To which I said I was surprised that there was such a thing as a Rutgers fan...

"This year is our year" - every pitt & rutgers fan, every august. Until it switches to "next year is our year" in mid september.

And "This coach is the right coach." That lasts with pitt and ru athletic supporters until the coach quickly turns out to be a disaster or has modest success and uses it to get a better gig (of which there are many).

You could have cited the ru culture that caused a homosexual student to commit suicide after being bullied by another student, allowed a basketball coach to mistreat athletes, or caused the university president to apologize to Penn State due to the repulsive behavior of its fans before last year's football game. (Who won that game, by the way? I forgot.)

Yes indeed... Or I should have mentioned that they were beat by a team that was severely handicapped, playing with just 47 scholarship players. If our O-line is much improved we will destroy Rutgers in detail. That you can take to the bank.

I believe our O-line will be improved, but not by much. If last season's line was graded at a "D minus" I'd be inclined to think a "C minus" would be about as much as one could expect. I do, however, expect the receiving corps, running backs and, most importantly, our quarterback to be significantly improved over last season. Special teams should also benefit from a larger pool of scholarship players. If we don't take any steps backward on defense - and all indications suggest we shouldn't - Rutgers will be in for a very long game when we meet them in the Beav. I'm hoping coach Franklin puts a beat-down on them, putting their disrespectful fan base in their place.

To be honest, I'm more concerned, all be it not too much, with our first game at Temple than I am Rutgers and mostly because its our first game and its on the road.

Temple is a road game in name only. The crowd will be 75% PSU and honestly, they are still temple.

Exactly correct, and that's why I'm not concerned.. I expect to be undefeated until we show up in Columbus.

Coach Kyle Flood had one of these in the locker room from summer until game day last year. He called it biggest game in school history, against "that team from Pennsylvania". Hopefully CJF will teach him again this year who "WE ARE"

I think 23-2 and 24 years since we beat this team are pretty demoralizing to his players. That doesn't pump you up, it gets you scared, and you end up throwing 5 picks.

I read this quote this morning which I have found to be laughable a best.

"But it's Penn St's history of covering up crimes that it's players are involved in, and getting charges lessened or dropped because of the influence
Penn St football has in the area its located is why I don't want RU to be part of any publicity to attract fans to Beaver Stadium.
I'm not even considering the type of person Penn St made Coach Emeritus after he " retired " from his DC position, shortly after being accused of a hideous crime , that seemed to have been whitewashed by the local police.
The nitwit trolls convinced me that the pervert "retired" because he was told he wouldn't be replacing his good buddy as HC."

THIS IS WHY I HATE THESE IDIOTS No clue what they are talking about. They contribute nothing to the Big Ten and no recruit of any talent in their state wants to go there. How really, aside from a few parents of players, can RU have fans? Talk about delusional or cults, people who follow Rutgers athletics have to fall into either category. How else could one explain being a fan of anything Rutgers?

Message board heroes are wimps in real life. Nobody would say this stuff to anyone's face, unless they were on Jersey Shore.

Huh? Did you guys briefly change colors in 2011? This is NOT your daddy's Temple Football and this will NOT be an easy win or home crowd for the Nits.

Convenient shot of the only area of the stadium where Temple fans are concentrated. I've been to PSU/Temple games at the Linc and the crowd is easily 75% PSU if not worse.

Here's another pic:

Temple smack??

Really?

Alright. It's not often you witness history being made on a message board.

Welcome lone Temple fan. Feel free to be a good fan and talk some Temple smack (truly unique concept).
