Since the season is really going to start, I figured I'd look at the 2019 Indiana game a little bit

The number of blown coverages and screwed up assignments by the Secondary was absolutely MIND Freaking BOGGLING!!!!! In the 1st Quarter alone PSU's Safeties, namely Brisker, blew one coverage, and then blew a Blitz assignment BADLY.

First, he followed the TE on a short crossing pattern when he was supposed to be the deep help when the WR to his side went deep. The WR was WIDE open and Wade gave Brisker an earful at the end of that play. The result: eventual TD Indiana.

THEN PSU ran what turned into a Strong Safety AND Free Safety Blitz from the SAME SIDE!! Geez, that left NO ONE covering the WR to that side, and an easy TD pass. WTF??? It certainly wasn't called that way, but there they were, Wade and Brisker BOTH blitzing from the same side of the field, side by side rushing the QB who had an easy TD toss.

Then with about 30 seconds to go in the game and PSU nursing a 10 point lead, another blown coverage this time by Taylor while they were in a Prevent Freakin' Defense took the ball inside the 5 yardline!!! How can that possibly happen?

Indy had no business being in that game at ALL. But the PSU Secondary gave them all the help they needed to make a game of it. The Secondary play, especially the Safety play, MUST improve in 2020 if PSU is going to make any serious run at the Playoffs.
