So, I ask you: Is Michael Dwumfour a great recruit that we snagged or.....

have we really gone so low that we now relish landing a 2-star recruit?

If, per say, we did not offer this kid, we'd be falling all over ourselves ridiculing Pitt for landing a lowly 2-star recruit and a kid we had no interest in.

Now, however, we battle Pitt to the wire, beat them and land this kid; (Pitt) -a school that we whole-heartedly make fun off when they battle MAC schools for recruits?

Now, this kid can turn out to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Am I thankful he chose PSU? You betcha!

But, we can't argue it both ways folks; so what is your opinion?

Did we land a 6'2" 288lb stud or did we battle a school for a kid we make fun of all the time? Have we hit a new low? After all, it's Pitt folks, right?

You decide and support your argument.

According to Rivals Pitt hadn't offered the kid. Neither had his home state school of Rutgers. Maybe Franklin was able to identify and land an underrated player and got a steal. I don't follow recruiting so I don't know the answer. All I know is he wants to come to PSU. I'll be pulling for him.

Not sure what is more pathetic, those you try and mock or you mocking HS kids choosing PSU. He's pretty much got an offer from every school he camped at and Austin Johnson was a 2 star commit to PSU in the spring. He's a 3 star elsewhere and he will get bumped by Rivals in time. I think you need some type of reassurance for some reason.

He did have offers from PSU, Iowa, Pitt, BC, and WVa which are not bad offers. He ran a very fast shuttle time the other day and a decent 40 for a kid his size. He's at 280+ going into his senior year so size won't be an issue. I don't get the constant need for reassurance some require. I can name a ton of decent kids in this region that were overlooked by Rivals and ended up with great careers. Hell PSU has had several. Hill, Baker, Ogbu, and Johnson are a few that come to mind just off the top of my head and that is just at PSU.

There could be some truth to Wheeler leaning to Pitt right now so Franklin went for Dwunfour. Buts thats just a guess.

I didn't mock anybody.

Pay attention please!

If anything, I mocked people like you when you think about it. Not to be critical.

oh, you missed this: Am I thankful he chose PSU? You betcha!

You did do a fairly decent job of supporting your argument.

this kid has just started to blossom in the spring....I don't have rivals premium anymore so I don't know what their thinking is but I have both scout and 247 and they are just now getting around to ranking him and brian dohn just rated him today as a high 3 star.......just sayin'

Loser Glov Sir,

Aside from the fact that you're from some inconsequential suburb near Pittsburgh and have professionally progressed all the way to the booming metropolis of Gallup, NM.....you're really not in a position to question any recruit PSU offers.

Based on your contributions to this board, I give you -5 stars.

Personally speaking, I'm nowhere near the {loser} you described me as but hey, if negativity floats your boat, well then, go smell your own farts!

Stick go the script.

I'd say the fact that the staff saw him extensively in person and offered him on the spot is good enough for me. I don't really care who has or has not offered him at this point. He's got great size and speed for that size, and DT is a need for us in this class.

You spoke for yourself and it shows. Oh Vey!

I don't know anything about the kid, and there are many 2/3 stars that blossom into legitimate college stars. I will say, though, that you're on to something when you say many on this board would be ridiculing Pitt if they landed a 2 star. No question.

What? McKees Rocks is not inconsequential. In fact, it is very consequential. Chuck Fusina, the great Penn State quarterback, is from McKees Rocks. So is Olive Thomas, a silent screen star and the original flapper girl; Paul Spadafora, former IBF world lightweight boxing champion; John J. Pinder, Jr., who is a WWII Medal of Honor winner; John Kasich, the former governor of Ohio; Billy Mays, the famous Oxi-Clean pitchman; and Babe Ruth (OK, I made the last one up, but I have it on good authority he wanted to be from McKees Rocks.) Finally, two very important Penn Staters were born in McKees Rocks. Ted Kwalick, who made the College Football Hall of fame, and me. That alone is enough to make McKees Rocks consequential. ;)

I was in such a tizzy after I read his personal attack!

Now, go Bucs!!!

Based on your deserved 802 likes, I'd say that you're the most consequential person from McKees Rock.

Who are these McKees and why did they have a rock worthy of having an inconsequential settlement named after them/it? Me thinks they were self-obsessed, so much so, that they also had a a "port" named after themselves. They sound like people CR66 would be enamored with.

Aside from Fusina and Kwalik (and yourself, of course), your list of McKees Rocks celebrities left me ....well.....underwhelmed. What kind of "culture" is McKees Rocks known for?

He was offered at camp and his testing scores are pretty damn good per ESPN(see below). He looks like a raw but super athletic guy. Not sure why he is rated where he is, but Franklin and company have shown a knack already for offering kids early who really take off later.

TESTING RESULTS

I think this kid is the real deal. Everyone was in on him very late in the game, and everywhere he camped he drew raves. He'll be a 3 star everywhere in a matter of a couple of months, and he plays sensational. Great strength and speed for a big man, and exactly what we needed. We're in good on a VERY good JUCO DT right now, also, and I think Dioubate will come on board soon when the staff closes the deal on him. Not a "glamour" pickup, but certainly not Vince Gliatta either! We're ok on this one GLOV, it's all good.

Did you ever hear of the Bolshoi Ballet? Well, in McKees Rocks they have the Pierogi Ballet and trust me, it's the better of the two. :) Besides, McKees Rocks is less than 5 miles from downtown Pittsburgh and Pittsburgh is a cultural center (I say that in all seriousness).

24/7 has him as a three. I think he will get that from all the services. He is the DT equivalent to the OL we got - Gellerstedt. I think a little time to develop and we will have something. I "think" we will take three DTs in this class :) The next two will have higher ratings, which is important.

Pierogis Plus, good stuff. Still being sold out of that defunct gasoline station?

A couple of thoughts...

1) People on this board that ridicule Pitt are idiots. It lowers Penn State to even mention what is going on at Pitt. Why should any self-respecting Penn Stater give a crap about Pitt. They are simply not relevant and it annoys the heck out of many Penn Staters when people on this site feel the need to comment about Pitt. Please just stop.

2) How about the supposed plan B's that Franklin found thus far? Here are some similarly ranked members of the freshman class from this past season: Marcus Allen, Christian Campbell, Grant Haley, Torrence Brown, Jason Cabinda, Antoine White, and Trace McSorely (ran off 4 star Michael O'Conner).

Methinks coach knows how to find them. Look how other offers shot up the current rankings Nixon, Dalton, Hill, Zembiec, etc.
