So if fans or media can't be critical because we haven't been a Div 1 coach on our resume then

Lol. Days of national relevance. You mean the 80s. Yes they are well behind us. We’ve had one exceptional season in 33 years.

60s, 70s, 80s, first half of the 90s until Jurevicius sank the locker room and Joe got passed by on offense. I'd personally settle for an undefeated season once per decade.

Anyways, not exactly sure which part of this you're hanging your hat on as a Penn State "fan"

Joe was great, but...........he won 409 games but.......Joe had 5 undefeated seasons, but.....Franklin is a good recruiter but.......We know best.

And when the results aren't there (in Franklins case, having reached a plateau he can't seem to breakthrough), then the methods are open for scrutiny.

Losing that football game on Saturday was absolutely ridiculous, should never have happened. He earned a ton of credit and love for the three games prior and he equally earned criticism for shitting the bed against ****ing Minnesota when 11-1 and either the CFP or Rose Bowl were squarely on the table

Umm, the Rose Bowl and CFP were on the table for Minnesota too

Why don't you give Franklin a decade to win one? We're on the right path, you need to chill and let things work out

When is the last time PSU has lost a game that wasn't the fault of coaching?
Fire everyone and get out of the way.......we should be about 48-0.

Disagree, the window to make a jump to the next level is short-lived and you have to kick the door open when you have the opportunity or you fall off a bit for some period of time. Michigan had their chance to break through in 2016 and blew it, now they’ve lost momentum and are struggling to keep pace with their previous highwater mark.

We likely don’t stagnate here, we either make the jump or get labeled a tier 2 program and perception becomes reality. No one wants to acknowledge it but recruiting has started to fall off from its peak, desperately need a strong finish to the year to reel in a strong 2021 class.

Now, if you’re satisfied with 2-4 losses per year, then it doesn’t matter. I personally want the good ole days back of kicking everyone’s ass

Just curious.....what are the tier 1 programs? If PSU goes 10-3,9-4 ,11-2 ,11-3......You'd have to go back to 68-74 to get a significantly better stretch.
PSU was a tier 3 program at best when Franklin got here.
Keep dreaming about the good old days....I'm sure that a new coaching staff will have us "kicking everyone's ass." Alabama, Clemson. LSU and Ohio State will be shitting their collective pants if PSU gets a winning coach. LOL
