Besides Ohio State and Texas A&M --- who have a 0% chance of completely dropping from the polls --- only 3 ranked teams lost this week:
(1) #11 Houston, which honestly should fall completely out of the polls, given the nature of their loss.
(2) #16 Arkansas. See the above note for Houston.
(3) #23 Ole Miss. Their 4th loss, and at #23, they were already pretty close to the precipice.
Colorado, Miami, OK State, Washington St and Virginia Tech were the Top 5 in "also receiving votes":
(1,2) VT beat Miami - that was the only loss among those 5. That win will definitely help VT, picking up Miami votes.
(3) CU beat Stanford today. Honestly, Colorado has probably done enough of late to get ranked.
(4) WSU won at Arizona State. A good win. WSU is pretty good and under the radar, but they do have the anchor of an FCS loss on their resume.
(5) OK State --- bleh. They're fairly decent, but beating Kansas, as they did today, doesn't exactly move the needle.
The next 4 teams in "also receiving votes" were South Florida, Stanford, Iowa, and Arizona State. They all lost. Beyond that, we're talking about teams that only have 5 points at most. Pittsburgh is among that bunch. They barely had support as is, and we'll jump all those teams.
It will be close. I could see us anywhere from #23 to unranked --- #23 seems to be the ceiling though. If I had to guess, I'd go with #24. Houston, Arkansas and Ole Miss dropping out. Colorado, VT and us moving in. Washington St and OK State remaining unranked.
