I guess they just see the final score. In my view, we were clearly the better team with Clifford at QB. The defense didn't look elite at all. They will probably go 12-0 then get smoked by whoever wins the Big Ten East.

I believe if Clifford does not get hurt and plays the whole game that PSU would have won by 2 TD's. And with the hostile crowd impacting the game in Iowa's favor at that.
And on a neutral field I believe PSU is a 2-3 TD better team.
But we will see if a team in the weaker B10 West can beat them, or if we'll have to wait until the B10 championship game to see them get stomped.

Iowa is not that good. They are likely 4th in the B1G east. That was a 4 score win for PSU until SC got hurt. A good team AT HOME would have then put up 40 against PSU based on the field position gifts alone.

I’m discouraged because it takes a lot to sun a title and backup isn’t ready yet imo and our running game is struggling .

The coaches poll is kind of a joke. Coaches pay attention to their own conference and don't have any clue what is going on with teams not on their schedule.
They were confused. That person thought is was the poll of who has the biggest asshole fan base. Clearly, that was an accurate vote in that case.

Clifford was on pace to throw for about 500 yards. PSU wins by 21 if he stays in the game (and that assume Iowa makes some adjustments...if they had no answer for him....woof...big blowout)

Iowa obviously won because of an injury. It was the only turning point in the game. It changed everything, obviously points, time of possession and field position. Transfer portal losses aside it’s concerning how unprepared Roberson was, the moment was way too big for him.
