I'm not sure what game you were watching, but PSU was smoking you guys until Clifford got hurt. Was it not for a couple turnovers, PSU was up 17 in the first half and probably would still have been up 14 if Clifford was in. That was a 24 pt PSU victory w/o the injury. The Iowa offense is very average. It's embarrassing that they only put up 13 points after Roberson went in. The field position Iowa was gifted was unbelievable. Short field and a defense that was tiring after being put back on the field with no rest. Not only is Iowa not #2 in the nation, Iowa would not even be #2 in the B1G East..maybe not even #3. Best of luck, but if the way iowa played Saturday is indicative of the season, you guys are gonna get smoked by the first good team at full strength. It's too bad you just played the only ranked team in your schedule and they played 2+ quarters w/o their starting QB. The B1G championship is gonna be a boat race.

But if you haven't watched IOWA and you just looked at stats and records, which many voters do since you can't watch every game, then you wouldn't know that IOWA isn't that good.
PSU wasn’t the only ranked team they played. The other ranked team beat themselves just like PSU and that vaunted Hawkeye offense gained 173 total yards. Only 4 teams in the last 5 years won a game with less than 175 total yards. That is in over 4000 games played in college football. Their luck will run out.
How many interceptions did you guys have in the second half against our backup? One…so I doubt Clifford would have thrown four more. Even so, turnovers don’t really give you that needed edge if you can’t score after getting them.
Do you have a therapist to help you get through your insecurities that keep you on this board?
Just a matter of time. They do have a solid D but can only go so far with that offense. The problem is they play a soft schedule in the West. Put them in the East and let them try going through that gauntlet and it's a whole different ballgame
They were going to get pounded pretty good with Clifford in the game. Even if the Iowa defense stiffened, Clifford was experienced enough to get offensive movement that would mitigate the field position advantage that Iowa had in his absence. Your backup QB was nowhere near ready for the position he was thrust into, but your defense still almost singlehandedly won the game.
As was pointed out by Midnighter yesterday to one of your numb-nuts brethren, you don't want to go down this path. With Clifford in the game, using your logic, Clifford would have thrown 6 interceptions. Great for you. Bear in mind, however, that we woul d have also scored well over 40 points to your palty 12.

Ummm, just ignore that you were getting dominated until Clifford went out. It fits your phony narrative. This Iowa team is about a #15 team and that’s generous.
Ummm, You were winning until our punter and crowd dominated you. When the backup came in the score was 17-10 (hardly dominating). Ferentz was setting that pass play up for the last 20 years and your guys bit so hard. If Iowa is the #15 team what does that make Penn State?

He only threw 2 resulting in 3 points. So Clifford's INTs barely impacted the game.

I get the sentiment, but college football is wide open. We’re now in a position where if Alabama loses the SEC title game to Georgia, there’s a much better than nothing chance they won’t be in the playoffs. It’s crazy out there.
If Iowa and PSU don’t deserve to be there, who does?

PSU was never up 17 points. Ever. Iowa scored first after the pic to go up 3-0. Then PSU got 2 TDs to have a 14-3 lead when Clifford got hurt. The play after he got hurt, PSU kicked a FG to go up 17-3 and then Iowa scored a TD to cut the lead to 17-10 when Roberson came into the game.
So we can pace out his yardage and assume he’d kept pace, but assuming the INT pace would have continued is just too much. PSU would likely have passed much more with Clifford in than with Roberson.
Maybe, but Yurcich has been really good at making adjustments as well. That wasn't possible when the QB wasn't even able to get the ball snapped cleanly. We had no penalties when Clifford left the game.
Without reading the whole thread (now 4 pages), on the Iowa board speculation was Coach Stoops from Kentucky.
Zero false starts when Clifford was in the game. It wasn't the crowd; it was QB2.
The Offensive Line doesn't jump when Clifford is in the game! Only jumps when a backup is in lol. I bet the corner doesn’t get burned deep if Clifford is in the game. 9-11 doesn't happen if Clifford was in the game. LMFAO
